Chad Clay's dad speaks on this...
Willie Clay's comments about Thomas Brown - who last we checked was the only coach on the current staff being followed by Smart's twitter account.
How does this all bode for Clay's planned early enrollment status? It's still in the works, according to his father, and one apparently retained coach is helping ease the transition.
"He was getting ready to sign financial aid," Clay said of his son's plan. "We had the papers, and we were getting ready to sign them after the Georgia Tech game. Obviously, with everything happening, we decided to hold onto them. We had already done a lot of the stuff. It was good to get a chance to meet Coach Smart. Him retaining Coach (Thomas) Brown is very important to our comfort level. Coach Brown has recruited us for the past year, so it's good to know he's still going to be around."
Is Brown a lock to return to Athens? For the Clays, it's certainly trending that direction.
"I think so," Clay said of Brown's status. "I would imagine. I wouldn't imagine he'd be riding around with the head coach and not be there. That'd be some kind of relationship. I did get the feeling that he would be around."

Doesn't look like Bmac will be retained. I guess him and Kirby have a rift between them.

It's not necessarily personal. If Kirby has a better idea of who he wants in that role, then it's the cost of doing business.

Yeah, Lowndes said they aren't exactly friendly.

That's too bad, McClendon was a good coach and a great recruiter. He'll have no shortage of job offers though...just hope he doesn't go to a big rival school.

This sucks I cause I think Bmac had alot to do with how good our backs where. Look at this year as compared to last year, even with the line sucking I think we had a drop off when Brown took over.

We had a drop off when Chubb got hurt, and then we had crappy QB play. Putting that on Brown is absurd.

A lot of time spent recruiting against each other.

Some have been stating that Radi Nabulsi was potentially a quality source for information...
He tweeted that he thought our chances were 85% at keeping Jacob Eason. I sure hope he has a reliable source.

Radi can be a good source, but I tend to cautious as he can be a bit too rosy for me.

I think he is visiting them today. They are a darkhorse if something happens and he just decides he wants to stay home.

I don't blame him for exploring his options. Can't say his GF feels the same way.

The strange part is Officials are usually for 48hrs like when he went to UF. 48hrs would put him at UW when Whackelwain was supposed to do the in-home.

Maybe the Gator thing has gotten out of hand, and he's trying to shut CJM out on a maneuver.

FWIW... I was curious about this...

For those wondering why Georgia non-on-the-field staff is on the road recruiting, or why Kirby is being allowed to recruit for Georgia even though his contract does not start until Jan. 1:
The NCAA staff granted a waiver to permit the current football staff to engage in coaching activities with student-athletes through the conclusion of its participation in the 2015 postseason while allowing the new coaching staff, to engage in recruiting activities.
Specifically, the NCAA staff noted that not more than 10 coaches may engage in recruiting activities and not more than 10 coaches may engage in coaching activities (other than graduate assistant and undergraduate assistant coaches).

As things stand right now, he is signing with UGA. He will need to have a good visit to UGA this weekend, though. And, we will need to make a good hire at OC.

3 Star Safety Jeawon Taylor
Florida recruit Jeawon Taylor says he’s 100 percent committed to the Gators, but he has a school in mind as a plan B option.
That school is UGA. He says the Bulldogs could be a fallback choice for him because of coach Kirby Smart.
“It may be because he was there (for me) before I blew up and became what I am today,” Taylor told SEC Country. “Kirby Smart is just a great coach. That’s the bottom line.”
What’s interesting about his comments is the fact that one of his best friends, 5-star linebacker Lyndell Wilson, is now considering UGA because of Smart.
