The issue with Carver players didn't stop there.....

Carver football coach Dell McGee said he apologized to Coach Mark Richt and the University of Georgia after three of his players, including star prospect Deion Bonner, were charged with thefts from the Bulldog locker room during a recruiting trip.

“He said these were just 16-, 17-year-old kids, that kids do different things, and it’s part of growing up,” McGee said of Richt. “It’s just an isolated incident that occurred. I know our program doesn’t stand for those types of things, and I don’t want to be represented by that.”

McGee also issued an apology to the seven players who had items ranging from an iPhone to a pair of Nike slippers stolen from their lockers, saying he was “deeply remorseful and regretful for what happened.”

It’s the latest twist in the long-running relationship between the Carver and Georgia football programs.

To deny his kids and players, the very people he's trying to "protect", the opporunity to be recruited by the home state school is an injustice. It's bullshite and petty and he sounds like a bitch.

The "lockout" lasted for like a month. Crowell was in the next class and went to Georgia.

What's petty and bullshite is random unaffected fans not wanting to hire a guy solely because of a PR dustup from 5 years ago.

Nah, we just don't want an AU terd coaching at Georgia. He clearly had a negative UGA agenda and I have no use for people steering kids and it shows he had his own agenda. I think the thing with the kid was just an excuse to bash Georgia which is something Dell has a history of.

I wonder how many recruits he steered away from UGA during his time at Carver.

Ga. Southern AHC & RBs coach Dell McGee has accepted job in same roles for new Tulane HC Willie Fritz per source.

Guess that means he wasn't getting the UGA job

I just don't like the guy for numerous reasons. Mainly things I'd heard about him while he was coaching at Carver.

I do too. He has a younger brother there, but the staff is probably on the way out next year, so we'll see. Recruits S. Florida well, as does Coley.

More rumblings on Coley today. If he doesn't get an OC job, seems he will be in Athens.

Any more rumors on the new S/C coach? Should add that to this list. More important than some position coaches IMHO

Didn't realize that Les had jettisoned Steele already. Surely Steele didn't leave LSU of his own accord to go to Aubie?

He absolutely left on his own accord and for the same check or close to it because LSU counter offered. He left because the LSU athletic department royally shat itself these past few months. I don't think he is receiving a ton more stability but regardless of Malzahns growing discontent amongst the fans it's hard to beat what just happened in Baton Rouge.

Lmbo when a high school coach pretends that he can keep UGA out of a Georgia HS with UGA people in the majority of leadership positions in the state. Public high school ya dumb ferk...
