We'll see. Given who we already have committed, my guess is we have higher priorities elsewhere and the only way we take Key is if somebody decommits. If the writers for UGA sites hop on this subject, there maybe something to it, but Key is a project and not a need, IMO.

I think we have a lot of talent already on roster or committed at any position Key is likely to play. I haven't seen any evidence from UGA's side that Key is still a priority after Walker committed.

UGA staff spent most of the day with him and his family on Thursday per Rusty on 247

The great majority of his recent articles are from LSU, Auburn, and South Carolina. Usually team writers hype the recruits that their team's coaches really want. My guess is Key doesn't have a firm offer from UGA. Probably not from Auburn either, because they're after some bigger prospects now, and their writers are huge homers and wouldn't be giving any UGA momentum to a player that turned them down. He'll probably either end up at South Carolina or LSU.

I'm waiting for a UGA crystal ball from the Auburn 247 guys before I feel confident about Godwin.

They can't crystal ball a committed recruit to a school he's already committed to.

Shows what I know about crystal balls. I was kidding, being sarcastic about them saying Key to Georgia. The crystal balls are a gimmick and a recruiting tool IMO.

Recruiting coverage is a big game of propaganda IMO. Partly aimed at subscribers and the rest aimed at recruits. I never take anything I read at face value, just follow it for something to do in the offseason. Plus, it's kind of interesting to see how players measure up to the hype vs my impression of their videos. Sometimes I'm right, sometimes I'm wrong about how they'll turn out, but there's always a lot of misinformation from the "experts".

Nope, definitely not an expert on anything football related. But, most message board posters aren't. And the problem is, it's very rare for any real experts to give you an honest opinion. Too much bias and self interest at work.

I do think that CMR and staff do a good job of recruiting the state of Georgia. Fans always panic when we lose a highly rated player from instate. But if you go back and look at the Georgia recruits who go somewhere besides UGA, the great majority don't turn out to be game changers in college. A large number of them don't even stay in school for four years.

This. It's meant to be taken as a form of entertainment (unless you are an auburn fan. Those fricking weirdos go ape shite over recruiting and have ups and downs like a woman's period).
I enjoy watching it unfold and root for the best classes, but the entertainment is watching the others be crazy asses. The Recruiting board and Auburn recruiting thread is seriously worth looking at from time to time.

You will find plenty of people on both that "have sources, inside info, etc etc). The rest of the people drool over what these cultist spit out and at the end of the day, when they're wrong, blame it all on the same 4 excuses......

D'Andre Walker rose 120 spots to #85 in the new Rivals overall 2015 rankings. Well warranted IMO (the rating services agree with me, so they're right in this instance ). He looks very aggressive in his videos (even factoring for the ubiquitous increase in video speed). His HS stats are very impressive too. I predict he'll be a sack monster at UGA.

Auburn and Alabama are kind of a special case. The rivalry is so ingrained that it has skewed their perspective. Historically being the lesser successful of the two has made Auburn fans a little too insecure and fanatical. I think it has affected the management of that entire university.

I was thinking the same thing. He should have worn the black pullover like Schott... He's worse than Phil Mickelson

Not that it's a surprise at all, but Mark Fields committed to Clemson. He had us in the top 3 after decommitting from USCe.
