Last time they can go hang out with their friends they've mDe throughout the process before they become opponents. Good for them

Not to mention, their class is very underwhelming right now. They need all the help they can get. Outside of Jovon Robinson, I don’t see one player I’d like from their class.

I mean...there are a couple OLinemen I would take in a heartbeat.

I'd take Javon, Harrell, and Sharp in a heartbeat. Also think Harris will be nice TE for them.

I'd rather have our overall class x10, but don't act like they aren't getting some damn nice players

Auburn (hi lurkers) is having a huge weekend this weekend. Something like 6 5* and 20 4*

And how many of them are from the state of Georgia that we should be getting?

Let's not act like Auburn isn't a Georgia school as well.

Who do yall think could lock down Ga. Borders? I see it as impossible task. I live in Warner Robins, We have Robins AFB, 50% of the people I know are fans of someone beside the Bulldogs. And I only know a handful of Tech fans, most are UF, UA, AU, and FSU.
We have kept a good bit of defensive talent around for the last couple of years, and we are getting better on that front every year. Since Richt has been here we have gotten top talent out of NC, SC, TN and FL, offensively on a constant basis. Not to mention the few we have plucked from other states.
OL recruiting has been a sore spot in the past, but I think we have more trouble developing the talent we brought vs. not bringing good talent (Friend changed the development aspect, and I think the new S&C coach combined with Sale will continue that trend)
We knew when Friend took a promotion to follow Bobo that there would be blowback, hopefully if we can't get the guys back on board we had, we can finish strong next year.
Recruiting across the board has been ramped up, I feel sure we will see a huge improvement in the trenches, both sides, going forward. GO DAWGS!

Don't think it's possible and also don't think it's necessary. If they can play, I want Georgia to get them, no matter where they're from.

That's a positive no doubt but applying that constraint would restrict our recruiting considerably. I would guess many of these kids are not motivated as college football fans. I was not a Georgia fan until I attended and graduated from UGA. Prior to that, I was pretty much just a fan of the high school I attended. I would guess that optimal fit in a particular system and playing opportunity are the main factors along with the personality of the coaching staff.

I was looking at running back videos a couple of weeks ago and K Johnson doesn't impress me. It's always difficult to judge because they speed up the recruiting videos, but he runs high and didn't have the burst for a great college RB IMO. He might turn into a safety and could be pretty good there.

As a RB, I'm not sure I'd trade him for Chris Carson. Carson runs high too, but he has a little more power and more likely to break tackles.

Agree, lucky for Alabama, Auburn and Tennessee in particular. Georgia is the 4th largest producer of college football recruits. And while we obviously can't get all of the in-state talent, we should be getting the lion's share of the top recruits in Georgia.

A popular misconception is that we recruit as well as anyone and sorely underachieve given our wealth of talent. The truth is that while we are usually top 10 in recruiting the championship teams are top 5 in recruiting and given our ongoing uncommon attrition, I would contend that we often aren't fielding a top 10 team.

Having said this, recruiting absolutely needs to be the #1 priority for our coaching staff especially recruiting in the trenches. We are great at recruiting skill players but our OL, DL and DB often don't measure up with championship level teams. It's time for that to change and I have seen some positive signs on the OL. Hopefully Pruitt is starting to make a difference on the defensive side.

All of this, " We can't protect the birders shite" makes me sick to my stomach. We can't get all of the guys in our state, but we can and do have an advanatge over recruiting in state guys, at least more so than most schools on our border.

Thank you! This is so widespread it's not even funny. I have lots of Tech relatives who always love to say things like "how are all those #1 recruiting classes working out for UGA?"

I can't help but chuckle when I inform them that UGA recruits well, and has definitely underachieved at times, but our recruiting classes under Richt have probably averaged about 3rd-5th in the SEC. We are playing plenty of teams that recruit as well or better than us. A top ten class is often 5th best in our conference.

4* Miami RB commit Mark Walton will officially visit UGA on 1/21. Says we're second behind Miami. Per Ryan Bartow.
