Load up the slam sedan with the finest bitches that Athens has to offer and couple big ol' bags of untraceable bills, we're headed to Louisiana!

Thought he was technically listed as an ATH by recruiting sites?

There's no way he will not be an elite recruiter. He is decades of experiences with a who's who in football to share that will mismerize recruits and their families. He is energetic, highly personable and most importantly, I think he will be able to relate to any person -- no matter their background. Obviously, I am biased because he's a friend, but he's going to do exceptionally well. Intuitive coach and a fantastic person and family man. I am happy for him and excited to see what he will do at Georgia. I know his career priority check list and and Athens and UGA are a 110% fit.

I like what I'm hearing about him. We will see very soon how good he is at sweet talking recruits, though.

Hope he is really, really good at it.

I really hope this is a good hire. However, this question begs to be asked - if his career priority coming from a NFL OC to a college OC, how is that an upgrade? Just a question that has been brewing since I read that quote...

I think he meant that Schottenheimer has aspirations to be a HC, whether in college or NFL, and has a better opportunity to do that here than with the crappy Rams.

Crow or someone in the know, what's the feeling for Mecole Hardman? He is supposedly a 4* DB from Elbert County who loves UGA. If this had been posted before, then my apologies for not going back far enough to see it...

The NFL was a benchmark, mainly due to money and notoriety. Times have changed. College football is growing at the same rate as the NFL. Salaries are now comparable. Some guys (Nick Saban) don’t like dealing with 53 Millionaires and a Billionaire boss. Look at Cam Cameron. He won a Super Bowl as the OC of the Ravens, and 2 years later ended up in BR.

There are a lot of things to consider. The SEC is the premiere league in CF, I see this as a lateral move. Maybe the guy wants to be a HC in College?

Hardman is going to be one of the top players in the state. At the Elite Junior Camp, he was one of the better players on the field. I know one of the 247 reporters singled him out as the standout performer. He’ll be moving up the rankings in the future. Quick and shifty player that could play either side of the ball. One of my favorite players in the Class of ’16.

As for where he stands. I think Tennessee is in the early driver seat, but he loves UGA. UTk offered him early on, so they got a head start. It will come down to those 2 schools.

I think Hardman wants to play WR in college, which is what UT is recruiting him as. UGA wants him at DB.

Hopefully he's more open to DB than he's let on in the past

You’re correct Crow. UGA should be open to playing him at WR. I watched some footage of the Rising Senior and he looked more polished than higher rated WR/ATH, including Bama commit Demetris Robertson.

UGA is in good shape for 3 highly rated CB, Marquez Calloway, Chad Clay and Khalil Ladler. Not saying they’ll get all three, because LSU is in on Clay and Ladler. But UGA can absorb a position change, or at least get him on campus and let his play decide.

I know Vandy was considering him to be HC. My guess is that he knows he won't be an NFL HC after some unfavorable situations but he knows he has a clean slate in college and can prove his mettle in Athens. If all works out we should have 2 coordinators that aren't home grown guys and have higher aspirations. That isn't to shite on our old guys, we'll miss Bobo, but I have always bitched that we haven't had a ton of coordinators being sought after for other jobs because it was indicative of the nation's perceptions of their abilities. Now we are rolling the dice with some high quality guys.

Pruitt and Schotty (if he turns out to be good at it) are good indicators that we are at least trying to go in the right direction. I have tempered my expectations of Schotty but who knows? Beats what we usually do, right?
