@AndrewJBone: Jackson Harris, four-star TE from Central High School in Columbia, Tenn., will announce his decision on Thursday at 6:00 p.m.
Looks like he's choosing between UGA, Bama, and Vandy. I see Bama has 50% of the Crystal Ball and we have 38%. What are our chances and who will be our next TE target if we miss on Harris?

UGA has a ton of ground to make up. We trail FSU by a wide margin

I'm still optimistic after reading some things about Harris today.
I haven't heard about any other TEs. Maybe they'll try to get back in with Chris Clark or just not sign one this class.

Noticed an ESPN Insider article on top-5 SEC recruiters written by J. Crabtree. Any insiders on here know the list...

Who was the last starting TE at UGA NOT drafted into the league? Aron? Is he the only one this decade? Seriously. This should be the one position that absolutely sells itself at UGA. They are HEAVILY featured and always have been. Hell, I am too lazy to actually go do the research, but I would love to see the TE production at UGA in the last decade compared with the rest of CFB.

UGA has produced many TE's. That's one position that has been coached up and hasn't failed.

From BI...
Any tidbits??

3* Offensive Tackle from Durham, NC (Hillside) Emanuel McGirt(Ht: 6-6 | Wt: 275) will announce his decision the last week in June. He will only visit Georgia before announcing

3* OLB from Buford, Austin Smith(6-3/235) will announce his decision on August 1st: He will visit UGA for the 3rd time in month of June on the 25th......

UGA was a big offer for McGirt. It sounds like he could take one of the two non-Edoga OL spots remaining

Well, any OT sounds good about now, and it ain't like anyone really knows who will continue to develop into top OTs. I am still rather convinced that most of the AA designations for 5* coming out of HS is just as much of a name recognition thing as anything they have actually done on the field as long as they start on a team.

FWIW 247 has McGirt as a 4*. You can't teach 6'6" and athletic.
My guess is UGA will get one of McGirt and Allen, and then one of Minshew, Horton, or maybe Warmack. After that, go after Edoga only unless there's OL attrition or more space open later in the process.

quote:Yup... OL recruiting is so hit 'n miss. It's more about how you coach 'em up & get them stronger & bigger & tougher after they get here. As was said earlier, lotta times there's not an appreciable difference in a 3*& a 5*. Of course there's prolly 4-5 who really stand out above the crowd every year, Big Ben, Larmey, Chuma etc...

At Georgia we can always count on a little space opening up
