I think UGA full backs got like 80 touches or something like that last year.
Part of the reason for that is the lack of runners at that postion. He would have had more touches at GT in CPJ system but he apparently wants to be part of something special not special ed.

Something special as in never sees the field and becomes a loser after football ... What a waste

Ok...after settling down, going to bed, and sobering up, I'm not quite as pissed as I was yesterday. The situation 2 days ago compared to yesterday really wasn't fair to any of our mental states. It would be like a lottery agency sending you a letter saying "You have won TEN MILLION DOLLARS!!!!" then the next day sending you one saying "Oops, sorry about that, you have won 500 dollars". Well...obviously you're pissed thinking about retiring and all the cool shite you could buy with the 10 mil, but in reality, you still got 500 bucks you didn't have before. Let's look at this realistically:
Montravious Adams- we sit in very good shape here. Yes, I know things can change but by all accounts he has shut it down and is ours. DT is one of the most important positions on the football field, and this guy is a 5* stud that helps is in the area that we stunk the most last year. Why are we looking at him like a consolation prize when he'd be the headliner in just about anyone else's class?
Bellamy- Like Adams, we have a very good chance. He was probably wowed by Oregon while there, but we are still his leader. Would be a very solid pickup to help solidify our defense.
Foster- Sit back and think hard folks. How good of a shot did we ever have? Every single one of us knew we weren't getting him, then all of a sudden we got all excited because HE COULD COME!! But in reality, we shouldn't have gotten that excited. This was always a pipe dream.
Liner- C'mon. Even more of a pipe dream than Foster, and the only reason he showed interest in us (very late in the process btw) was because of his buddies, not necessarily UGA.
Thomas- Again, none of us would have ever really thought we had a chance until like a week ago. Even more of a pipe dream than Liner! This isn't a "miss" because we never really had a chance.
Tunsil- I saved this one for last. There's no sugarcoating it, this one hurts. It really does. But, decommits happen every year to just about every school. Hell it even happens to bama. The only and I mean ONLY silver lining here is that we can take solace knowing that our coaches did everything they needed to without risking NCAA violations. They played his recruitment great and we led for months, we just got cheated and sniped at the end. It's not right and it's not fair, but at least it wasn't due to our incompetence.
Also, do the names DJ Humphries, Seantrel Henderson, Mason Walters, Tyler Love, Matt Patchen, Tyron Smith, Ryan Miller, Reggie Youngblood stick out to you? You may recognize some of them, as they are some of the highly rated 5* OTs according to Rivals the past few years. I don't recall any of those guys really tearing things up, and a few of them have been flat out nonexistent. I'm not saying LT will be the same, I'm just saying just because he has a number and some stars next to his name doesn't automatically mean he'll be a beast.
Another point I want to make is that even though it would have been GREAT to have LT, it doesn't really HURT us to not have him. We didn't have him last year and our OL was surprisingly good. We finally have some depth and all 5 starters return. The only game you can really say we could've used an AA type LT was SC, but I mean nobody in the country can block Clowney so whatever. And we didn't lose the SC game simply beause of the LT position, but I digress. My point is that YES it hurts to not have him but we can absorb a recruiting loss on the OL better than we can the DL.

We had a walk-on at FB this year. The kid will defiantly see playing time. Don't be pissed cause 2 commits of Tech's massive class just left for the SEC.

I hope he goes there. For one, we don't play ole miss for a while so whatever. Two, it'd be nice to see them knock off bama, lsu, or auburn in upcoming years. And finally and most importantly, if he does sign there the NCAA would basically be forced to say "ok c'mon. Seriously guys?" and look into it. I mean it would be so blantantly obvious that they are cheating it'd almost be laughable.

All I can do is

Saw this in a post on Scout...Any idea what he's talking about? have I missed something on Turman??

I'm deeply worried about RB though if the Turman rumors are true but other than that it's a solid class imo.

What were the reasons he gave for not coming to Athens?
Posted on 2/2/13 at 9:36 am to lambertdawg
I believe we initiated the discussions to cancel his visit because we knew we didn't really have a chance. Would just be a waste of time.
