Speaking of crazy fans, do any of you know the guy who called one of your recruits to ask about his commitment?
The dudes' a nutjob. Sadly, I've gotten into it with him on the Rivals MB.
He came on the MB and started a thread titled something like "Does your homeboard ban you for contacting recruits?". Bonafide honestly thought everyone was going to be like "awww man, that's messed up, screw your homeboard". Instead everyone was freaked out. After 6 pages of people going off on him, he still stuck to his guns claiming that there was nothing wrong with him "calling a recruit and offering him encouraging words" and he cussed out anyone who disagreed with him.
Crazy that he made the AJC. Well not really considering it's Carvell.

Speaking of hyenas, how the hell are you Don?
Yea, that guy is a dumb arse. Some people just don't get it. It's all about them regardless of the consequeces. Not sure if he makes the rest of us look bad or sane.

Hmm, well I guess to us it makes us feel sane, but if I tell someone I follow recruiting and they hear this story they might associate me with BonafideDawg.
Either way, the guy crossed a line and sadly I dont think he's the last. He was so caught up in thinking the Dawgvent was out to get him, that he didnt even take a step back and realize how creepy it was for a 40 yearold man to call a recruit. He was threatening to call other recruits just because he felt like it was his right to do so, and that recruiting services didnt hold an exclusive right on contacting recruits.

When asked why he did it this is what he said in the thread.
"Why? because I damn well wanted to. Seriously pregos, name a case where a regular fan with no real afiliations to a school talked to a recruit and something was made of it. The NCAA didn't ask Foster's mother if Reuben ''had talked to people''...of course he did. They asked it Auburn's staff had any part in relocating him to Auburn. It's like an old ladies' convention around here sometimes."
"I'm not embarrassed at all a-hole. I am pissed off at cvnts like you who act like making a 2 minute call was some kind of crime. You're brain washed by these services and a bit of a fool in the process."
And this is what the kid told ESPN
"Somebody called me, some fan," Nelson said. "This guy called me out of nowhere. I thought he was a reporter or something like that. It is creepy. I don't even know how he got my number."

Just curious did Ohio state receive any punishment when that sex offender was getting too close to recruits? I know they at least one recruit decommit but didn't know if the NCAA stepped in

I honestly dont know, I know the parents were pissed off that during a visit at an OSU function this guy was hanging out when he was a registered sex offender. I think they were cleared because it would be impossible to run background checks on every fan that shows up for a peprally/fan day, etc.
I could be wrong though.

I know it's not quite the same but it was the only recent example I could think of about a fan getting too close or having illegal contact

It's in the arena where fans go too far.

Didn't know Fletch left. The only board I'd honestly pay $ for would be 247. But even then, I don't think I would. Nowadays with LHB, TigerDroppings, and then the free stuff you can pick up by cruising the links on Dawgbone, there's just not much reason for me to use a pay site
And good to see you around, Donald

Damn refreshing to hear a guy like John Jenkins acknowledge not only the sacrifices the guys need to make as football players, but also his role as a senior in instilling that mentality in the younger guys. Damn Good Dawg right thur

I've been watching a lot of old games on youtube tonight. Call me crazy but when we have an effective run game and the o line gives our qb time bobo can be a great offensive coordinator and play caller. of course those things don't always happen and then bobo has no clue how to deal with it

That has kind of been my view on Bobo for a while. He's the equivalent of a ratarded monkey smacking itself in the nuts with a toy hammer for 60 minutes when a piece of the offense isnt functioning right. But when all wheels are clicking, he can actually be deadly. Problem is, he and Richt have been subpar at making sure the machine is well oiled before game time, whether its roster management or S&C

FYI Radi is doing a chat on Dawgnation. If one is so inclined; it is good info.

Bo Scarborough after watching Bama practice:
He says he wants to go to a game at UGA and Clemson
quote:
“I pretty much stand the same as where I was before. Nothing new has happened yet, so it’s pretty much the same. Georgia and Alabama are still the top two. After that, it would be Clemson and Florida.”

He can wait until next season and watch UGA skullfrick Clemson in the fake Death Valley.

SBJ has been laying the banhammer down at DR (for dumb shite, too, like providing links to fantasy football leagues because it "takes away traffic from DR") and Ashwin and Spanky have been banned...we need to get them over here.

I don't know, man. You don't want that kind of trouble.

Ever since that Rivals article a couple weeks ago I haven't been worried about him.
