Jarvis Jones on coming back for this year...

quote:

“I think [people] know I stayed to get better, stayed to mature and become a better person outside of football,” Jones said today. “You get some people that are, like, ‘Well, I would have taken the money’, or ‘I would have [done] this.’ It ain’t all about the money. A lot of guys could have left and made money. But they … came back here here to get better, to become legends of the university. Because once football is over here, you’ll never step between the hedges again and play.

“You got to … leave everything here that you can. I think that’s what we want to do. … All the guys, they bought into it, and we believe in each other and want to do something great. All the guys don’t want to be just another name or another number that just came through here and went to the pros. We want to [put up] one of those [championship] plaques downstairs and be remembered as long as this university stands.”

Jarvis will go down as one of the best...dude is amazing at what he does.

Some more good news: sounds like there are no injuries coming out of the scrimmage. With numbers already thin, we have to remain healthy during fall camp.

CWash had 3 sacks, Rambo and both the Jenkins each had 1 sack, Commings had the lone interception, Herrera recovered a fumble.

It looks like both Gurley and Malcome had good days toting the rock; that'll be key for us going forward.

Also, I have to believe that Bauta will be moved to FB, TE, or LB at some point...even if Murray leaves early he can't compete for PT in this system with Mason, LeMay, Ramsey, or even Welch. At 6'3"+ and 225 lbs, he's more than capable of moving to another position.

Laremy Tunsil listed his 5 officials with Kipp at Dawgnation today. Officials are going to be Alabama, UGA, LSU, Ole Miss, and USC.

He did go on to say he is "In love with UGA." And that he has a great relationship with all of the coaches in Athens. Sounds really promising for the good guys!

I agree, I think we're in great position for Tunsil right now...I just wish NSD were tomorrow. We need a good season to remain his #1 team because Bama will likely pull out all the stops to grab him.

Based on the espn article, it sounds like tunsil is a pretty heavy UGA lean at this point. A long way to go though

I took it more like "I would love to play with Henry, but......"

I did too. And I think I've seen two different interviews one of him saying that it would be great to be able to block for Henry at the next level, but another of him saying that no that's not going to be a factor in his decison.

UPDATE: It's down to Alabama and Tennessee for four-star athlete Derrick Henry (Yulee, Fla./Yulee). Tennessee may have the edge at this juncture as Henry nears a decision. "The pros for Alabama is the two national championships in the last three years," Henry told Austin Price of VolQuest.com. "They have a trend at my position with Ingram and Richardson. The con is the question of where I'll play. I don't think that will be a factor because coach Saban and I've talked about that a lot and he's told me they want me as a running back." Henry wants to be a running back at the next level. Coach Saban has seemed to ease concerns from Henry about switching positions, but there is still the possibility of the Crimson Tide switching him to linebacker. Tennessee appears to be recruiting Henry purely as a running back. And that's where the difference may lay. Henry is scheduled to take an official visit to Knoxville during the season when the Volunteers host Florida.

Speaking of Henry, here is some stuff being thrown around on Dawgrant. It looks like it came from Volquest.com.

We'll see how much he likes Tennessee when they get raped by Florida at home.

It's funny you said that. When I read the excerpt, the same thing was running through my head.

Reading this makes you wonder why he decommitted in the first place.

It does, I wonder deep down if he regrets it?
