It’s just too soon to tell. That defense was clearly fantastic and neither Arch nor Sark had the benefit of tape to help prepare.

It’s encouraging to me that Sark was able to sit with Arch during halftime and give him some tips to read the disguised coverages better, and Arch was then able to actually adjust and do it.

Let’s also be real—that game was a decided by a few lucky plays. OSU can’t count on a receiver snatching a disrupted catch out of the air in the endzone. So, this wasn’t a decisive victory by any stretch.

On the plus side, we got out of there with no injuries and we have a bunch of easy games in September to let Arch and the offensive settle in before we start the gauntlet in October. I’m optimistic this team is going to be a playoff team with a little more time.

Both Arch and the staff need to figure out his sweet spot

100% agree

We’ll kick the crap out of the bad teams, but we need to figure out this sweet spot for the other games.

quote:

Arch has looked good in games, much like Vince did early in his career. GG NEVER had a game that game me any confidence in his ability.

I agree with this as well.

I have always said that a good player will flash in the beginning, not necessarily be consistent, but he will show something that makes you think he will end up a good player.

Arch did some good things last year.. all that was missing yesterday was making the routine throws that he could probably make in his sleep, but either the wind or his footwork or the emotion of it all or the buildup, whatever it was, it didn’t work, but all of it’s fixable.

The only question is how long will it take to fix it?

I did find it incredibly ironic that he completed the last pass he threw with a dude hanging all over him. That tells me he was in his own head, and when he didn’t have time to think about it, he threw it just fine. Just gotta get his confidence going, and the next 3 weeks should do exactly that..

I’ll let the rest of the board vote. I removed him from the group, but he can somehow still post. If I knew him to be a Longhorn, I would let him say whatever he wanted..

But I think he’s a troll, and that started months ago with his Felix Ojo post.. But y’all decide.

Upvote - he goes
Downvote - he stays

Well I didn't get to see what Menu2 posted that got him the hammer.

After sleeping it off and all the rational headed input I have read here and on other boards I have to remember that Texas was playing a damn good team in their house in front of 100 plus fans pulling for the bad guys.

Defense looked really good except for a couple of mistakes that lead to 7 points, man that third down conversion from a penalty was very costly.

I was surprised that our new offensive line held up so well, they still need to work on a damn QB sneak but that was more on Sark. When Texas started to bounce some runs outside we saw our backs finally use their speed, need to do that more often.

I just hope yall are right on Manning, he had better dig in or it is going to be a long year for him and us fans.

Dump him.

Brings zero analytical thought process to any discussion, simply childish banter. He can go hang out in the rant section with the other trolls.

Too soon for me. Tough game on the road. They’ll clean it up these next two and be ready for Florida.

Ok I’ll bite here. Something is wrong with arch. He’s hurt or when it’s game time something just doesn’t match practice vs game time. I don’t know what the frick it is. But it’s not good. I don’t think he’s the answer. The Florida game will tell me all I need to know.

Sark is a fraud but you will get banned for pointing it out so I wouldn’t.

Going to be a long year, however, unless the def can play like the ‘85 bears

I wouldn't say fraud, but somewhere along the line, and despite pedestrian success, Sark fell into the good graces of the media and pundits - and that's really all you need.

It happens in the sports industry often - a rando sports figure is deemed a darling for whatever reason. And because of that, the establishment will relentlessly boast of said darling even in the face of dubious achievement and mediocrity.

Once you get the establishment on your side, you really have to earn your way back down. But I trust Sark will find the way.

On a scale of 1-10 on the worry meter, I'm at about a 3. It's a mental thing for Arch that he should pull out of reletivley quickly. I'm more concerned with our offensive line than I am about Arch's ability to get it together in the next few weeks.

Just so y'all remember what he is really supposed to (and can) look like, here are the State highlights.

I know it's Sam, but still good to see Arch plant that back foot and play with some fire. Whole stadium could feel it.
