He didn’t suit out vs Lsu and now Looch is posting about other teams trying to recruit him.

247 said he isn't in the transfer portal, so it would be violations for any team trying to recruit him right now. Footworkking made a comment on twitter that he wasn't transferring. Saw the cryptic "personal issues", but being said it is not A&M or grades related.

On the subject of a WR transferring, for some reason the tu horn mod Roach did make the comment that he heard Dylan Wright is looking at the transfer portal, I blasted the A&M mods on why a tu mod is reporting this before them.

Is he saying that there is a risk of losing him?

FWK definitely would know what's up. I hope he doesn't transfer. It would really stink to have a guy with that kind of talent, and of course he would not be able to play his senior year, be a little behind then transfer. Either way, we need more elite receiving talent to pair with him. Last night's game made me hope we get that receiver from LA. Really hope he catches the vision of the future and stays.

Jimbo is known for not playing guys he feels have not earned playing time. It doesn't matter if the player is a 5 star recruit or highly athletic.

If Demas was here during the Sumlin era, he would have seen the field by now because football discipline was a foreign concept under that regime.

No, but that doesn’t it couldn’t happen. It’s not ideal. This counts as smoke.

Goddamnit. I always felt like there was something going on with him. Will melt hard if he leaves.

With footwork shooting down Demas rumors I wouldn't worry about it but on the other hand with Wright there is some truth to the matter. I hope the coaches give these guys some chances this up coming Saturday.

Jimbo said during today's press conference that he expects Demas and Lane will be back this week

Great. Now get his arse on the field. Not a single WR (not counting Smith) has stepped up enough to be an untouchable starter.

I thought the issue with Demas was he needs to bulk up to see the field (was getting jammed too easy in practice)?

The way I look at Demas right now is the way I look at other top players with major flaws. Take prime Deandre Jordan for example. He can't shoot. He can't defend the 3 point line. He can't make FTs. But he can dominate the paint with allies, rebound, and block shots. So only ask him to do those things. Same in baseball. Yordan Alvarez can mash with the best of them. But he's got 40 year old knees. So he's gunna hit 4th and swing for the fence. He's not playing the field. He's not stealing based. He's not going 1st to 3rd on a single. Demas may be light and not fully known the playbook. Whatever. Get him in there for a select few pays or situations and lets use the tools we have.

You don't reward complacency. We've been through this with Sumlin already. He set low expectations for players and just threw them into the fire if they were freak athletes. Look at how gun-happy he was at playing 5* freshmen; Kyler Murray, Kyle Allen, Speedy Noil, Ricky Seals Jones, etc. They all saw the field their freshman year and all were busts at A&M. The only guy that played up to his ranking was Christian Kirk, but even then you can make the case that he left A&M as somewhat raw talent.

Simply throwing guys onto the field because of their star rankings/talent is a terrible way to manage a team. It's frustrating, but it doesn't send the right message. You basically tell your 2nd and 3rd stringers to stop trying and you deprive your most talented guys from crucial development.

It has nothing to do with rewarding and not rewarding. It’s about playing the best guys to win. I don’t care if Demas was a 2 star or 6 star. His ability is obvious to anyone who’s seen him. A good coach can find way to use the talent.

While you bring up Kyler, it wasn’t about playing him too soon or not. It was about inept coaches who couldn’t make a decision and use their talent correctly. If Kingsbury is the HC and has Kyler as a freshman he would have 100% succeeded.

Maybe this comparison will make my point better. Drew Brees is an all time great QB. His end of his career version is still clearly better than Hill. He’s still more accurate, reads a defense better, etc etc. but why on earth did Hill still get snaps. He’s not being rewarded. It’s because he has a skill set that is different than Brees. He can rush 100x better than Drew. Peyton found a way to use his unique talents to be successful.

A good coach wouldn't play a player who isn't ready. That's why Sumlin sucked as a coach.

WR play is lagging behind the rest of the team at this point, and it's one of the few positions where we haven't had a coaching change to potentially reset the clock. Hopefully whatever Coach Craig's trying to build through recruiting/development/playing time looks better next year.

Coaching 101. You don't play a player you can't trust or you feel isn't ready to see the field. "Ability" doesn't mean shite if you're not running the correct routes, don't have the entire playbook down, or can't efficiently block.

Demas knows what he has to do to see the field. Jimbo is not going to limit his play-calling just to get Demas on the field.
