Somewhere on a mountainside drinking bourbon and watching the world burn. We need you now more than ever.

What?

The dude was a huge Sumlin apologist.

We definitely don't need his kind around.

I've been around here a long time. I know that he was always first to defend Sumlin. He was essentially Sumlin's Mike McKenzie.

He certainly had a stake in us winning, and it would have been easier on all of us for sumlin to be the guy.

Yeah I wish Sumlin had been the guy too. But I think there's a difference between that and endlessly playing goalie for Sumlin way past the point where Sumlin was obviously a turd.

No, he just had a more positive outlook and had no time for the idiotic hot takes that this and every other message board loves to gobble up and treat as facts.

I can guarantee you he sees the writing on the wall for Sumlin after that trash last night but he is also willing to at least let the season play out. That's a fair way to look at things. You may not like it but it is fair.

There is always the off, off, off, off, off, OFF chance that this loss somehow galvanizes the team and they turn things around. But the fact of the matter is A&M hasn't publicly fired a HC in the middle of the season since Emory Bellard in 1978 (and even he was allowed to "resign") and they aren't going to break that streak to can a guy after game one of the season no matter how much it's deserved. If he gets fired midseason it will be at the bye week but don't be surprised at all if they wait until after the LSU game.

Either way, barring a miraculous season that nets 9 regular season wins w/2 victories out of Florida, Auburn, LSU, Alabama he is gone and everyone knows it at this point.

What would trigger a September firing would be a loss to any of the four opponents or a massive scandal (such as Starkel transferring or Hubenak quitting).

What would trigger an October firing would be getting shut out by Alabama (A&M hasn't been shut out at home since 1971).

Nah...we good. Nobody enjoys being scolded online. I don't want anyone managing the melt this season.

Tmc94, even with his absence, has brought more to this board than any other poster and more than everyone combined save for 3-4.

I for one would really appreciate any kind of contribution he had, whether I liked it or not.

Cool guy, not sure what we'd do without stellar input like that.

tmc was a solid poster. Hot takes get old pretty fast. You seem to think this is a board of directors with a voting function or something, but it's just a circle jerk like every message board.

I am slightly upset that I wasn't invited to this circle jerk you speak of.

And condescending diatribes about the greatness of Sumlin and how we are all moronic plebes for daring to question his unparalleled football genius are better?

Anytime he would "defend" Sumlin it was really just explaining an inside view on why we did certain things that most readers appreciated. It was the absolutists amongst us that drove him to stop posting (say only terrible things about him or I'm going to rage!).
