You joke but it is a big deal. It means they were 100% wrong about us going to the SEC.

I remember back in 2011 trolling on Shaggy and none of them could even IMAGINE a situation where we made more TV money. Today that is a reality.

Double digit wins or gtfo.

6-6 at best.

If it never translates to success on the field then it does not matter

For once I don't agree with you Shane. I think it matters a lot.

I mean, it was embarrassing as hell when the AD had to borrow that money from the school especially because it lead to that falling out with Murano. I never want football to be a burden again on academics and this SEC money makes that possible.

Plus frankly despite us getting tired of 8 win seasons we are MILES ahead of where we were a decade ago. Now people nationally know A&M, know we are a SEC team that gave them JFF. A decade ago we were known as "that Texas school with that fun Mike Leach coach." Now we can watch every game easily in HD. Less than a decade ago I was overjoyed to find SD streams of the jumbotron feed on the internet because the game was otherwise not watchable unless you went to the stadium. Now we have the kind of resources needed to compete with anyone in the state. A decade ago it felt like the machine Mack Brown built would never let us come up for air.

I mean yeah 8 win seasons are blah and none of us are excited about our head coach, but the PROGRAM is ten times better off than before our SEC move and the big check is the biggest part of that.

Don't ever forget the debacle of the 2009 season (Bill Byrne's TRUE legacy) and why the Big 12 deal was so HORRIBLE.

Texas A&M 2009 Regular Season.

vs. New Mexico - Not televised anywhere

vs. Utah State - Not televised anywhere

vs. UAB - Not televised anywhere

Arkansas - ESPN2

Oklahoma State - FSN national

at Kansas State - Fox College Sports: Central

at Texas Tech - Not televised anywhere

Iowa State - Not televised anywhere

at Colorado - Fox College Sports: Central

at Oklahoma - FSN national

Baylor - Not televised anywhere

t.u. - ESPN

Out of the 12 games in the 2009 regular season, A&M could only be seen FOUR TIMES without a premium sports package subscription and only SIX TIMES with one. The Big 12 violated its own contract by not making any effort to get A&M televised on ABC.

1: Technocally 8-4 or better should probably be considered "successful" given what we are working with. Problem is we're in this situation because of Sumlin's mismanagement so 10+ or GTFO

2: 5-7 or 6-6

9 wins
Beat one of LSU/Bama/Florida
Realize that tight end is a position that exists

If he goes 11-1 and that loss is to a school from Mississippi

I will want him fired

I'm sick of losing to the Cajuns too

But losing to the schools from Mississippi cannot be forgiven

The most important thing is the record against SEC West competition.

He needs to close out the season with a winning record after the BYE Week

What will it take for me to be satisfied?

Well obviously anybody can go 8-5 three years in a row. But 8-5 FOUR years in a row!?!? That would be impressive.
