Wanted to repost this over here since it got buried. Hope that's alright. I'm very curious to hear reactions from people who went to the game. Hope y'all had a good time.

We didn't. Hill was very impressive and so was your OL. Your defense played well but I'm not sold on our offense. Not sure how much we sucked or how much y'all's defense improved.

We could not stop that one friggin play up the middle every time. Y'all abused us with that. Hope you guys have a good season, and from what I saw tonight y'all will. I think A&M could win the west IF they keep playing like that. I'll continue holding on to my pipe dream of winning out until Georgia destroys us.

I don't even want to begin to think of what auburn is going to do to us if we don't get better. Dylan Thompson looked decent at times, but he needs some major improvement and fast. Some of his decisions were downright tarded.

That INT was the worst thrown ball I've seen since Garcia or Blake Mitchell.

preciate it

truth is, we won the LOS battle. Hill wasn't touched all game even when y'all blitzed. Meanwhile we got inconsistent pressure without much blitz. When we did bring the blitz, we got there.

And while I know y'all expect more from your QB, I really thought Thompson played really well in the 2h. He seemed to settle down and stop overthrowing everything. He got lit up a few times too and still made good throws. He's not elite, but he can win a lot of games if he plays like the 2h - especially if Davis can get healthy.

He has to work on his decision making. Running OOB 4 yards behind the LoS just ain't gonna do it. And that interception...oh don't get me started on that interception. ON THIRD AND ONE NO LESS.

It was a fun game for a while and I was pretty excited about our mini comeback because the crowd got back into it until the interception. Thompson will be ok, but I feel we will lose a game or two because of his decisions.

Our defense has to learn to adjust, secondary especially. Hard to get pressure with short throws , but do something! A&M was wide open all night. Obvious execution gap was obvious. We looked lost.

I don't think its as bad as y'all are making it out to be. The secondary will get better with experience and you were one dimensional offensively with no Davis and being down. A couple plays one way or the other and it's back to a 10 point game,

Had a couple friends who went and said they had (or possibly still having) a great time

Who know what this game really means. We will know the value of each team in about 6 weeks.

Either way it was a win we badly needed.

CNB, didn't read your OP. Drunk at Flying Saucer....

We rolled up to the fairground lots by the "ski lift" and set up shop with the Aggie tailgate about 11am. I was honestly surprised that the lots were empty. I honestly thought showing up at 11a that we would be well behind everyone else hangin out. As the crowd came in over the hours and gathered, I wanted to walk away from our spot and mingle with the good people of SC. We immediately found that and I only went back to the Aggie tailgate to snake a few beers and bring to our cooler that we had already moved to be a part of the Gamecock tailgate. We met a bunch of good folks that welcomed us like kin. Inside the stadium was the same way, section 501, mostly ags, but some SC fans lookin for a cheap seat. Good ppl that talked football, recognized good plays on out part as well as we did on SC's part. We know how the game ended up so no need to get into that here.

Traffic sucks leaving the stadium, but thankfully we came across some people of both SC and aTm fanbases hangin out and had a good time until traffic cleared.

Overall I would say the day was awesome (the win helps), and the people here were just as awesome.

I hope i'm in CS next year to return the great hospitality that me and my buddies recieved.

Sorry for grammar errors and typos. Drunk at flying saucer. IDGAF

Glad you had a good time

Traffic isn't bad if you know where to go. I avoid Assembly street at all costs on Gameday.

It's not like Athen or Clemson where you just literally sit for an hour or two. Have fun and don't drink and drive

I'll be pulling for you guys the rest of the year, even though scrooster makes that really really difficult at times.

I think Thompson was the most unimpressive player on both sides. By a ton. He sucks. I kept hearing how great he would be. We have third string QB's every single year better than him.

Also, not sure if we improved our DLine or your OLine was overrated. Could go either way.

Good game and we will have a great rivalry going forward.

To be completely honest there may not have been a team in the country worse for y'all to play first. Ag's had a major bad defense/johhnys gone chip on their shoulder, couple that with our air raid and y'alls question marks at DE/Corner and it was just a bad matchup. Thanks for the kind words, everyone was nice on game day. Would love to see y'all in atlanta, the last top 10 team we beat still won the championship.

Davis being down maybe hurt or maybe it didn't. Wilds has the ability to run the ball and he had good runs when he got the ball once a quarter.

The coaching in this game, seemed to be the bigger issue to me. Yes the defense looked confused and scared. So why not help them out by running the dam football? Three throws and a punt just puts them back center stage to get pounded on.

We always play mediocre to poor our first game and the quality of our opponent had me super nervous to begin with.

That being said, Very well executed and played game Aggie. Great win for ya'll. I am in california on business travel, so i found a local buffalo wild wings to catch the game on and ended up drinking and talking with a aTm couple that were there for the game as well.

Good luck rest of the year, I would like to say that I hoped for a rematch in ATL, but I honestly don't see us coming close.

Yes, I was very impressed with ATM in this game. I did think it was going to be a close game, but I had SCe winning like everybody else. I did take ATM at +10.5, so that was good. It is very easy for me to root for ATM living in Pearland, TX and having many ATM buddies.

Hard to describe how impressed I am with ATM, and outside of 2 blown coverages by guys in your secondary, the D looked better. Feel like you guys have something to build on in regards to the defensive side of the ball.

Good luck the rest of the way, and I will be following ATM as closely as I have been since y'all joined the SEC.

It was a little interesting actually. The defense rushed 4-5 in the first quarter, and every quarter after we reduced that by 1 and still got pressure. By the 4th quarter there were plays we rushed 1-2 linemen. It was honestly sad.

Thanks, CNB.
Started and ended the week in Charleston. Columbia in between. Everywhere we went, we were treated great. Just great. Your stadium is first-class, and the crowd would have been a real factor in a close game.
Also had my first mustard-greased ribs, which were outstanding. Looking forward to going back in 2 years.
