Trocha doesn't hit that 3 and the game doesn't come down to the final 5 seconds.

That’s a pretty good example of why even the very best college hoops teams every year lose 3-5 games. We played flat, didn’t execute like we have in every other game, rough officiating in a glorified away game against a team with NBA talent and still had a shot at the line to tie it with 2 seconds left. Color me not concerned

Yep. It’s my one of my biggest complaints about the game of basketball in general. Refs have entirely too much power and control over the game like no other. They can dictate pace, personnel and ultimately the outcome of a game. The foul discrepancy was laughable.

All that said, this team wasn’t going undefeated, and perhaps a little smack back down to earth after all the hype will do them some good.

Joke of a game. Let's just ignore all the ticky tack/phantom fouls, wtf was that travel on Davis at the end?? Was Tim Donaghy on the court?

Not too concerned with this game, but we have to be able to play this kind of game better. If we can get that fricked be the refs and not look that good overall and still only lose by a score, we're looking pretty good.

Oh and I'd rather hear Beth Mowins and Dave South give each other oral while calling a game than have to listen to Bill Walton again. That was the most distracting shite ever.

We may have got outcoached... but officiating was poor and environment was relatively hostile. Team needs more games like this...

I don't even think we got outcoached tonight. If we had, Arizona wouldn't have given up 6 baskets on garbage inbound plays.

Also, the inbounds trap at the end worked. Hess bailed them out both times with bullshite foul calls to keep them from having multiple 5 second violations.

They never showed those fouls on the inbounds. They had to be as rocky tack as the traveling.

In any case it’s good for the team to have adversity and grow from the experience.

Arizona is expected to do very well this year still right? They will probably finish well and get to the dance so the loss won’t hurt us, right?

Even if they don’t make the dance, everyone knows they’re a big name and they’ve got talent.

Williams being a non-factor in the game was very odd. He seemed lethargic, like he was ill.

He looked intimidated out there. He's an elite defender but until he starts boxing out and develops a go to move offensively, his performances will seem underwhelming imo. Very disappointing start to the season. He may have hurt his draft stock by returning

That coupled with extends breaks.. he may have been under the weather but I don’t understand not saying anything.

I hope he’s not bringing any recruits with him, because it’s gonna be empty.

Will be at least me and my wife there to hear him. I’m expecting a decent crowd.
