If we get to the Final Four, we’ll all have a nice burying of the hatchet together on the Riverwalk.

All of this sounds mostly reasonable, but "our poor long term prognosis" is just stupid. How the hell do you or anybody else know?
SafetySam and I have a classmate who is always at least 30 seconds (sometimes a minute or more) ahead of us on SECN broadcasts. Is it like that? Can you see the future? If so, how do my retirement stocks look next year?
By the way, this pic is the source of my signature. Remember? I remember.

Recruiting, early departures and past precedent.
We're losing at a minimum Williams, Trocha, Hogg and Wilson. Possibly Davis as well. Combined with our abysmal recruiting and we're in trouble.

How many game have we lost in 2018-19?

The bracket is setting up beautifully
Xavier just lost to FSU. The 4 teams left in the West bracket are A&M, Michigan, Gonzaga and Florida State. I firmly believe we are the most talented team on that list (and I honestly don't see it as debateable).
The South bracket (the winner of whom we would play in the Final Four if we got there) consists of Loyola, Nevada, Kansas State and Kentucky. Kentucky is BY FAR the best of that bunch and we blew them out this year (and should have swept them, gave the game away in Rupp).
So our ABSOLUTE TOUGHEST path to the title game is 3 seed Michigan, 4 seed Gonzaga and 5 seed Kentucky. The fact is we have already beaten the toughest team we'd face until the title game.
This absolutely could happen

I’m enjoying it. But we have shown all season to be a poor FT shooting team. We played to our potential today. Hard to play better and UNC couldn’t hit a 3. So let’s realistically discuss our chances against Michigan. Well maybe tomorrow when we put the cool aid away.
Gig em boys.
Gig em boys.

Every team left right now is either very talented, red hot, or some combo of both. You whip yourself into a frenzy with these hypotheticals and then get livid when they don’t come to fruition

Michigan is tough to figure out
They beat Michigan State twice, Purdue and Ohio State. They also lost to LSU and got blown out by 20 against Nebraska. They played North Carolina and lost by 15, but that was on the road and way back in November. The most impressive thing about them is that they havent lost since February 6th. They've won 11 straight since.
They are not a particularly good rebounding team and we average 7 more rebounds per game. They have some height but nobody with the strength to really hang with Williams/Davis down low for 40 minutes. They are also a worse FT shooting team than we are. Their best asset as a team is their ability to protect the ball, they average only 9 turnover per game and only 7 during their winning streak. As a result they give up very few fast break points.
Their wing Charles Matthews will be our biggest problem IMO. He averages about 13 PPG, he's a long fluid 6'7" and we really have nobody to guard him. Gilder is too small, Hogg is not a great defender and is not the fluid athlete Matthews is and Williams isn't quick enough on the perimeter. He's a poor man's Tracy McGrady in style of play.

They're due. And after the miracle vs. houston (
Need to jump on 'em early and plant the seed in their heads that their clock has struck midnight.

Don't be fooled by their height. They have tall guys, in fact their leading scorer is 6'11", but they have nobody with the true post game offensively and defensively that Williams/Davis do. We should still work them in the paint.

Wagner is extremely skilled down low and can handle the ball and step out to the 3 pt line. He will be a late first/early second round pick
Posted on 3/18/18 at 10:53 pm to Roger Klarvin
we are probably going to come out in a zone. force wagner and muhammad to hit threes. while feeding rob and davis on offense and if they are hitting threes we will switch to man and go small and hope that gilder and hogg and flagg can hold their own on defense on the perimeter

I honestly don't worry about post players with this group. Luke Maye is an AA who averages 17/10 and shoots 44% from beyond the arc, and Davis/Williams made him look like a nobody today.
Robert Williams is the best defensive post in the country and Davis is not too far behind.

I’ve never considered John Beeline (sic?) to be a good coach. Advantage BK!!!
