Looking at the polls I cannot wait for Maryland to fall on its face. Sure they're 15-1, but they're 15-1 vs the 120th ranked schedule. They have played 1 top 50 team and lost (UNC). They only have 3 top 100 wins and its Princeton, Uconn, & RI.

By the end of the month they'll have played @UM(RPI-47), tOSU(63), NW(112), @MSU(7), IOWA(16), & @tOSU(63).

I'm thinking something like 18-4, which still looks nice, but knocks them off their top 3 ranking.

There are some that want to see Maryland fall on its face because of Turgeon.

Sizeable jump in the AP poll (from 21 to 15) this week.

Last time we were ranked this was was week 12 of 2011. We were 17-2 ranked #13/#11.

Then we lost our next 3.

Losing to Texas (in horrific fashion) then Baylor back to back at home soured the fanbase on Turgeon's whining.

That was still a fun team. Outside of Middleton I felt like it was a bunch of underdogs in BJ Holmes, Walkup, Dash, & Leabeau.

Turgeon was a better coach than any Aggie will ever give him credit for. He made the tournament 4 straight years in a tougher basketball conference with very mediocre rosters. He never had anywhere close to this team's talent level. Kennedy wouldnt have made the CBI with the 2011 team.

He called us out for the shitty bball fanbase we are and that rubbed people wrong

Yeah he's a very good coach, I think he's proving as much at Maryland where they put a lot more into basketball. Even though his assessment of our fanbase was probably fair I still think it was poor form, especially since he did it while he was coach. Insulting and calling out college kids like that just isn't a good idea and won't help the problem. I don't blame him for leaving though

All he did was kept the ball rolling that BCG started while recruiting worse and worse. The cupboard was bare by the time he bailed. He never even made it out of the 2nd round, yet we've got fans ready to hang Kennedy if we don't get to at least the sweet 16 this year. His first year he had DeAndre Jordan, Donald Sloan, Josh Carter, Joseph Jones, and Dominique Kirk which is likely a more talented roster than the current team.

There's a difference between trying to encourage the fanbase to show up or even complaining about attendance during the offseason. It's a whole different story when you sit down at your presser after a big loss and immediately blame attendance for the loss.

I agree with all of this. But like you said, he rubbed me the wrong way and left so I kind of enjoy him he slips up a little.

In defense of the 2008 team, this still makes my blood boil: Sloan getting assaulted in the lane

Technically, it was NOT a foul call because no call was made.

Higgins did what referees named Higgins do...screw over A&M.
