Michigan State
But Izzo is also one of the greatest Xs and Os basketball coaches ever so it's not fair to hold anyone to that standard.

Bottom line: Conference championship for the first time in 30 years. HE'S A TERRIBLE COACH. Makes no sense at all. Some fans aren't happy if they aren't miserable.
Then again,

That's why I said it's an impossibly high standard
quote:
And that's a bad example, anyway. Warriors are going to beat that butt, again. Probably because your coach is obviously no good.
Pop sux. Been holding SA back for decades with his curmudgeonly monkeyshines

Because you disagree with him? There's nothing wrong with that article.
There's PLENTY wrong in that article.
Had Buchanan simply cut out the following portions, there would be nothing wrong:
quote:
I just wasn’t sure which finger he’d use.
You want the coach to give the finger to the home crowd? Isn't that what everyone has accused Mark Turgeon of doing? Why the frick is this sentence even here?!
quote:
But could you really have blamed him if he’d addressed his detractors among the A&M fan base by asking: “How do you like me now, witches?” Or, something like that.
Even worse. One good year out of five doesn't give ANYONE the right to act like this, especially when you inherit a team that had been a single digit seed in the NCAA tournament every year for 6 years prior.
quote:
They’ve suggested he’s incompetent. They’ve maintained he cannot win at a high level.
Has he won at a high level? Yes he has a conference championship. His career NCAA tournament record is 1-2. His career major conference tournament record is 2-4.
quote:
He took over a declining program in 2011.
That's a fricking lie in every sense of the word. The team he inherited went to the postseason seven straight years and the NCAA tournament six straight years before Kennedy took over. That team had a 67-game nonconference home win streak.
Now, had he written this to read, "He took over a program that, despite the record and tournament appearances, was rotting away from the inside out", it would be FAR more effective and would actually add merit to what he followed it with.
quote:
Cincinnati was ranked No. 1 in the nation in 2000 when Kenyon Martin broke his leg in the first game of the Conference USA Tournament. The Bearcats were eliminated in the second round of the NCAA Tournament by Tulsa.
Seriously comparing a team that went to the 2nd round of the tournament without Kenyon Martin to a team that lost to 3 straight bad teams to close the year?
quote:
Kennedy’s team could win a game or two in this year’s NCAA Tournament. That would be a remarkable accomplishment considering A&M has reached the Sweet Sixteen just twice in school history
A remarkable achievement to win a game in the NCAA tournament?!! DAFUQ?! You have to win 2 games to reach the sweet sixteen brain donor!
quote:
If LSU opts to make a coaching change would Kennedy, a New Orleans native, be a candidate for that job? If so, would he take the call?
He should, but probably would not.
This is Billy Liucci-levels of stupidity. He's going to leave an "unreasonable" fanbase for LSU's fanbase and AD, who are the PARAGONS of reason and logic?!

You do know that I'm railing on Buchanan's unprofessional and flat out wrong tone, right?

I think he's.....average.
Average wins some and loses some.
Not the worst thing in the world. Right place, right time, with the right assistants....who knows.

Please cease with the ad hominems. Unfortunately it's become a consistent theme with you. Not everyone's going to always agree with you and *gasp* sometimes you're actually wrong.
Either way, I'm quite certain it's possible to disagree with someone without constantly acting like a prepubescent and resorting to name calling.

Olin's article contains objectively false information as CGSC pointed out. I will absolutely attack an inflammatory article designed to make me feel bad for no reason other than objectively assessing a coach, especially when that article lies to do so.
Im genuinely sorry I f that offends you, but it's not something I'll stand for. Olin is a professional who wrote a very unprofessional article.

This is a legit Final Four caliber team that probably will lose the first weekend.
Just in the SEC we're probably at best the 3rd most talented squad and personally I'd also put Vandy in front of us. I think 4 in the SEC is probably about right. Not sure how that equates to Final Four caliber.
I'm sure with the right breaks we could get there but I think you're stretching the limits as to how far the theoretical goalposts can be moved.

then just say that. No need to resort to name calling.

I'm usually above that...unless there a Billy Liucci bash. Then I'm all in for name calling that dude

I've filled all the jars in Houston. Can someone please ship some in from another city?

All we need is a really bad matchup in the 4/13 or 5/12 game with a team that is extremely well-coached and can shoot lights out from 3 and we'll see what the results are.
What you need to do though is re-post the Klarvin quote about a certain cleansing act if we make the Sweet 16 on every page.

I think I can ship ya some surplus from SA. Can only spare a few, though. Gotta hold a few back for myself for next week when I get to see my Royals, my Spurs, and the Warriors on back to back days.

I'll gladly tongue punch his fart box if we make it that far. You guys be sure to set that up.

I'll make some calls.
Never thought I'd have to make these kinds of calls, but I'll make them, goddammit

Crisp clean passing leading to an easy bucket is more beautiful to me than the biggest of monster dunks.
