Woodward can do what the last 4 ADs failed on if he ensures that the contract has a reduced buyout and, at the very least, is not a guaranteed contract.

The buyout cuts both ways, but it's a much higher risk at this point that other team's will try to rip BK away from us than the risk that we'll want to fire him.

Let's be completely honest...what school is going to pull a coach that only makes the NCAA tournament once every five years?

Let's reexamine the end of the 2011 season. The reasons we hired Kennedy in the first place were:

1. Possibly the best available at the time (Turgeon left in late-May, 2 months after the season ended) after Ben Jacobsen and Gregg Marshall both told us no.

2. Bill Byrne did his typical "dumpster dive".

Seriously though...tell us with a straight face which Power 5 school is a threat to poach Kennedy from us. Stansbury I'll give you.

LSU

So LSU would go from a coach that makes the tournament once every FOUR years, and has never had a losing conference record at LSU to a coach that makes the tournament once every FIVE years and has a losing conference record 3 out of his 5 years?

shite Pat, you're probably right. Only they would be dumb enough, and BK would listen to a call home.

I have a lil secret to post once this gets finalized. I've been sitting on it so long it annoys me having to read your whining about contracts but it has to wait just a bit still

You mean the ridiculous contracts and extensions for Slocum, Franchione, Sherman, and Sherman being nothing more than the Dallas and Houston Big Money Ags, respectively, exerting their will in order to neuter the other side?

I think everyone knows that.

Woodward was supposedly hired under the auspices of an AD that has more control over the football program.

I understand how we lost to Arkie, but that Bama loss just pisses me off. They're getting blasted by UK.

tbf, Bama has been schizophrenic this year. They've got 5 top 50 RPI wins (tied for most in SEC). Yet they're only 16-11 overall
