Preseason predictions aren't worth much because nobody has a good idea how solid the team in question is or how good the teams on its schedule are.
The facts are this team was very talented and 2/3 of the way through the season we were ranked #5 in the country. The SEC is down and we should have won it. So spare us your October wisdom please.

The only way our collapse can be more epic than texas in the 2009-2010 season is if we miss the tournament. Kennedy definitely has the ability to choke that badly.

With our awesome non conference performance, I think we'd have to finish 9-9 in SEC play top seriously enter the bubble conversation (11-7 definitely wouldn't do it and I'm fairly confident 10-8 wouldn't either). That means we have to finish 2-4 down the stretch, which is why I think Ole Miss is such a critical game. We all know he can pull off the home losses to Kentucky and Vanderbilt, so he has to find 2 more. Beat Ole Miss and those 2 have to come from Miss St, @Aub, and @Mizzou, which will be hard even for Kennedy. On the other hand, if he loses to Ole Miss I believe Kennedy will be able to find enough magic fairy dust to lose a road game to a truly horrible team.
My bet is we finish 10-8 or 11-7.

Anybody predicting a loss tonight against Ole Miss? I think we'll win this one. They're a thoroughly mediocre team and we're getting them at home.
