The whole shower concept is foreign to grandpa, you'll have to excuse him.

EJ’s big mea culpa post is pretty amazing. My favorite part:

quote:

So why did things change so drastically with Leal, Williams, Richardson and Wright. Each recruitment is different, but I think it's safe to say Texas finished second in all those recruitments. Obviously, that's not what you want to hear, but it's true. And the staff did everything it could. A&M and Jimbo are really doing a great job this cycle and the newness gives them a boost just like it did with Texas last cycle. In Leal's recruitment, Texas won his mom but didn't do enough with Leal. In Richardson's recruitment, he pulled off a visit high. Just to give you a behind the scenes nugget, he tried to visit Texas on multiple occasions early in the spring, but his father wanted him to honor his word. Wright's father was a Texas fan and is Jason Washington's relative. But again, each kid made their own decision.

The “we came in second” moral victory is classic mid 00s Texags.

Yes. Seeing us have a coach take what he wants in state and them resorting to our old BS makes me slightly aroused

We have 7 of the top 14 in state per 247's state rankings. That is pretty filthy.

Keep in mind they don't have Young or Wolfe ranked that high.

so 5*LB Ale Kaho randomly transfers to Bama to be closer to home and failing geography. Does this help us with Nakobe Dean?

It's only going to get worse with the new transfer rules in place.

If they let things go to full on free agency the sport will become a massive clusterfrick.

Anybody have info on Sidney Murray ILB Indepence JUCO? I had never heard of him, but read he is deciding between us and LSU. No idea if he can play, but a JUCO LB next year makes a lot of sense.

I watched some of his tape here.
They move him around on the line a lot. I don't know if I see him at LB.

It’s kinda sad none of the 247 guys saw the Wright commitment coming. Some key quotes of his prior to committing:

quote:

About Fisher: “He’s down to earth. You know Nick Saban at Alabama? He’s not like that. [Fisher] will talk to you.”

About our direction:

quote:

He’s building something that will change the whole thing,” Wright told 247Sports.

Yet one Crystal Ball.

Someone asked on 247, Perroni didn't have much info, said it must be for just a walkon spot.
