Robinson has no effect of Shep. They play different positions.

Robinson is an interior lineman, probably a center. He's a mauler.
Shepard is a prototype tackle, probably even more so than Green (though not as developed). I don't think they have any impact on each other.

Our current average player ranking is 89.8. With our remaining targets, is there any way we can get up in the 91-92 range?

BP is talking about Wolfe, Young, and Stripling. He thinks all commit to A&M in the next few weeks.
Also said Leal is still solid after his visit to tu and Bama.
And we made a ton of ground up with Malik Hornsby after his recent visit.

If we land those 3 it would bring our avg over above 90, put us at 21 commits (5 more than Bama), and we still wouldn't pass them in the rankings.

as long as we finish ahead of texas and FSU

Yea Bama will definitely have a better class, but we need to be recruiting at or better than LSU/Auburn's level. Jimbo had avg classes of 91-92 while at FSU.
It's still early, but I figured with all the recruiters we have on staff and the new coach "bump" we would finish with a Top 5 class. Seems like we might end up closer to 10 as it stands.

Maybe a few of our guys will get a bump before it's all said and done - Calzada, Robinson, Leal and Cupp???
Plus (and we've seen this before) if a commit isn't performing up to standards they have been processed prior to National Signing Day...

Absolutely, we will see several three stars make the jump to four stars before it’s over
But that fat rascal ketch may drop several of ours because, well he’s a fanboy

Not worried about either of them. I want a great class and let the chips fall where they may. If we do want to compare it then it needs to be vs Bama, Auburn, LSU, & UGA.
Posted on 6/19/18 at 2:50 pm to Farmer1906
we can beat all those teams on the field.

Right. We actually play them so it's important to have talent that matches up.
FSU can have the #1 ranked class and make the playoffs yearly and I won't give a damn unless we're winning SEC titles and getting matched up with them every so often.

Yeah I don't get the FSU comparison at all.
I mean it will be interesting to look at them in a few years and see if they were right that it was a blessing for them that Jimbo left when he did, but I don't think any sort of comparison in recruiting in this cycle is valid.
First of all, they recruit better than us normally so them beating us in recruiting isn't a huge deal.
Secondly they basically hired a coach who is all about recruiting. He had to pay off at least the first year on what he is good at.
We all know the real standards that matter: Texas, OU and maybe LSU. Those are the programs that local top recruits will compare us to, and those are the programs we eventually need to beat on the recruiting trail.
What FSU does doesn't effect us at all outside of pride.

Y'all fill me in on the Javonne Shepherd saga? I saw the tweet that it's y'all and Texas. What's the deal with this Foot Work King?
Posted on 6/20/18 at 10:19 pm to Captain Crown
Foot Work King is a basically workout coach and promoter. I don’t think he’s dirty. I think he’s all about getting these kids into D1 schools and making money by getting his name out there. He’s got a good relationship with Jimbo & Herman. Both guys have landed kids that workout with him.
Shep apparently was told by tu that our coaches were talking shite about him. It makes no logical sense as we’re recruiting him hard. Green brought him to town the other week and things seems back on track. He also went to the tu pool party. It’s a toss up at this point.
