You gotta love seeing Zaycoven Henderson invited despite his arrests/assault on women yet a class act A+ person like Poona doesn't get invited. Eff the NFL.
I didn’t know glorious Poona the Great wasn’t invited! Ahahahaha! They dickrode that guy for years!
There hasn’t been a totally overrated player they loved as much as Poona since that white safety who was always running his mouth despite sucking arse as a player and always letting the team down. I don’t count Leak Leak because surprisingly a few of them have admitted in person that he was a disappointment. None of them would dare say that about Poona or the Great White Shitalking Safety.

Yeah, Poona is going to be selling plenty of cars/houses/life insurance in the Austin area pretty soon.

Here is Ketch's synopsis on losing Leal
quote:
Ok, so let's talk about DeMarvin Leal.
The possible five-star defensive end and the top defensive prospect on the Texas recruiting board is officially committed to Texas A&M in a recruiting battle that somewhat resembles the sailing of the Titantic from the perspective of the Longhorns.
One moment, everyone in burnt orange was on a luxury trip across an ocean and the next moment the ship hit a College Station-sized iceberg.
So, what the hell happened?
Well, it seems from his remarks on Wednesday that the A&M staff did a number on him by emphasizing three main talking points:
a. The SEC.
b. The NFL Draft.
c. The A&M staff's recruiting efforts.
Honestly, if you're Tom Herman and Co., those are not the talking points you'd be hoping to hear. I think you'd much rather he had just fallen in love with the school or the spring game atmosphere or something less right at the heart of what A&M is clearly selling in direct comparison.
There's not much you can do if a defensive player, especially a defensive lineman, decides that he wants to play in a conference that specializes in his type of player, above all other things. It is what it is. The Big 12 might be just as good of a conference pound for pound as the SEC, especially when you take Alabama out of the mix, but there's no getting away from the reality that one is an offensive league and the other isn't.
Meanwhile, there's been a lot of focus on the offensive line when it comes to producing NFL prospects out of the Texas program in recent years, but did you know that no true, no-doubt-about-it Texas defensive ends have been drafted since Brian Robison and Tim Crowder in 2007?
Of course, the Longhorns have had defensive ends like Sam Acho and Sergio Kindle (who were college ends/pass rushers, who were views by the NFL as 3-4 outside linebackers) but even if we want to count the hybrid players, no Texas end since Alex Okafor in 2013 have been drafted by NFL teams. Meanwhile, the Aggies are still getting a lot of play from turning Myles Garrett into the No. 1 overall pick in last year's draft.
Doubly ironic is the truth that the man serving as the primary recruiter on Leal for the Longhorns coached Robison on the Texas national championship team and was with the team up until 2013, thereby owning the good from 2007-10, but also the bad by only having one of his pupils get drafted in the last eight years.
The Longhorns can sell Todd Orlando all day long, but it is a bit of a tricky conversation with this particular position.
Finally, his comments yesterday simply indicated he's closer to the A&M staff than he is to the Texas staff, which is the most surprising part of all when you consider how many times he's visited the 40 Acres.
I know everyone is hoping that a big season on the field and a little more time to work on him will lead to yet another complete 180-degree turn, but I'm not sure I think it's very likely at this point, not unless the Longhorns can emphasize their main talking points, which he doesn't seem to have at the top of his priority list.
The bottom line is that for now, this was a pretty big recruiting loss. The defensive line is as big of a need area as any position on the team and the No. 1 guy has decided to go elsewhere.
That loss stings.
Number Two
Of the top 20 players in the state in the current LSR Top 100, here's a list of the non-offensive skill players:
OT Kenyon Green
S Brian Williams (Committed to Texas A&M)
S Demani Richardson (Committed to Texas A&M)
OT Tyler Johnson
S Jalen Catalon
DE Marcus Stripling
DE DeMarvin Leal (Committed to Texas A&M)
Ath Marquez Beason (Committed to Illinois)
TE Austin Stonger (Committed to Oklahoma)
DB Erick Young
LB NaNa Osafo-Mensah
Of those group of 11 players, only Green, Johnson, Catalon and possibly Osafo-Mensah are guys that the Longhorns would appear to be in driver's seats (or at least riding shotgun in the front seat) with.
This Texas staff has earned some benefit of the doubt in recruiting after last year, but there's a lot of work to be done.
Number Three
If the Longhorns are going to finish with a top 5-10 type of class, as I mentioned in this week's @TicketCity Podcast, the path to getting there might be with a heavy influx of out-of-state prospects.
It's a good thing this staff is eager and open to that challenge because continued success outside of the Texas borders will be critical this year.

Well that was as fair assessment of point one as you can ever hear. Think Billy could say that??? The second point was the drivers seat or shotgun. I’m not sure Green fits that category. He’s right though.... this year they’re going to have to go OOS to get there.

They do this to themselves it’s wonderful

Also as much shite as we give Looch, which is a lot and it’s deserved, Ketch is just an absolute joke. Looch is a spin master who will hedge after the fact and all that, but Ketch consistently talks out of his arse and knows absolutely nothing, which is not the case for Liucci.

We've had a good run on ends / OLBs in the NFL.
17 - Myles Garret - 1st overall
17 - Daeshon Hall - 3rd round
13 - Damontre Moore - 3rd round
11 - Von Miller - 2nd overall
09 - Mike Bennett - undrafted, but he's had a nice NFL career (3x Pro Bowl)
