In the state tile game... Thought the lake Travis 2nd team QB (soph) who was their starting WR easily looked like the prospect with the better fundamentals and upside. Wasn’t that impressed with his performance that game.

See, here's why there's no reason for concern. Brian Williams' response to Gunnell:

It’s all good bro

That’s terrible to send to the kid. Funny as hell. But terrible.

Brian Perroni: Who's next at QB for Texas A&M?

In a decision that looked to be coming for a while, four-star quarterback Grant Gunnell decommitted from Texas A&M on Tuesday night. While the Aggies will keep recruiting the 6-foot-6, 212-pound passer and he says he will still consider A&M, they will also look at other options.

Here are some players to watch for as A&M looks for a quarterback in the class.

- Texas High QB Coltin Clack: A&M likes the 6-2/210 junior quite a bit and he is someone that is firmly on the radar. Clack missed the second half of the season with an injury so it might be spring ball before he starts to see more offers role in. You can bet Darrell Dickey will seem him in action.

- Port Neches-Groves QB Roschon Johnson: A Texas commit, Fisher visited PNG in January and then Dickey did as well a couple weeks later. Johnson is a dynamic dual-threat, throwing for just shy of 3,000 yards and running for over 1,600 as a junior. By all accounts, he is solid to the Longhorns but that won’t stop Fisher and Co. from trying.

- Allen QB Grant Tisdale: Another dual-threat prospect, the four-star Tisdale is a player A&M is familiar with as the Aggies are after his teammate, five-star WR Theo Wease. The 6-1/204 junior would likely jump at an A&M offer.

- Pinson Valley, Ala., QB Bo Nix: An Auburn legacy and early Tigers’ commit, Nix was high on Florida State in addition to Auburn before Fisher left for A&M. He likes Fisher and Dameyune Craig so you can bet the Aggies will see if they can get in on the nation’s top-ranked dual-threat.

- Bridgeport (Conn.) Avon Old Farms QB Taisun Phommachanh: The 6-3.5/186 dual-threat has seen quite a few offers as of late. Florida State never had a problem going to the Northeast for players so expect the fast-rising junior to get a long look.

- San Bernardino (Calif.) Cajon QB Jayden Daniels: A&M just signed Jeremiah Martin from the same school as the 6-3/170 four-star dual-threat. He has a couple Crystal Ball predictions to USC but things might have changed a bit with JT Daniels reclassifying to the 2018 class and signing with the Trojans.

- Phoenix (Ariz.) Pinnacle QB Spencer Rattler: A pro-style quarterback that can also run, the 6-2/180 Rattler made an early commitment to Oklahoma. That won’t stop A&M from pursuing the nation’s top quarterback if the Aggies like him, though.

Other in-state players to watch: Spring Westfield QB Terrance Gipson (6-0/185); San Antonio Jay QB Jacob Zeno (6-4/190); Langham Creek QB/ATH Chris Herron (6-0/184)

If he had "an it factor", he wouldn't be so wishy washy about his commitment. He'd take leadership of the recruiting class and try to make it the best it could possibly be.

Another Matt Davis is what we really need right now.

BP thinks Okie State is actually the leader, because Gunnell likes their offense. Doesn't think he will end up back at A&M.

So basically nobody knows anything.

I’ve seen people say we are still the favorites, LSU, Arkansas, and now Ok St. Stuff like this is why I minimally follow recruiting until the month of January. The kid probably wants to take a few visits to schools and it would’ve been awkward if he was still a hard commit.

I’ve never understood why a guy would early commit anyways, let all the schools wine and dine you and your family and fly around the country on some free trips if you are a big time recruit.

Just hope Jimbo gets back to work on bringing this guy back into the program later on down the road. If he doesn’t, nothing we can do about it and we did pick up a 4 star QB this year.

It's musical chairs. If you have an offer, take an offer and continue accepting others. If you think of it from the kid/family perspective, it makes perfect sense. It's insurance.

Brian Williams seems like that type as far as a class leader. And he’s an absolute beast on the field

Feelings hurt? He's not the style of QB that Jimbo wants and you just signed Foster. What's the big deal?
