Oh the drunk/drug fueled tales I could tell it was a lot of fun until I lost all semblance of control

And I don’t begrudge young kids that do, I realize I was more the exception and not the norm back then. But if you have a professional job, and are over the age of 30 (sumlin is what mid 50s?, I’m too lazy to google it right now) with a family and are getting carried out of bars or restaurants, you have a problem. Period.

Pretty much sums it up.

Huge difference between a young guy who has no major responsibilities getting wasted vs Kevin Sumlin drinking until he can no longer walk.

At that point, it's just selfish.

Absolutely.

And I say that as someone who was Dionysus incarnate in my 20s. I outpartied everyone here, squared.

But as a married 30-something with a great career and a kid? Helllllll no. My life is totally different and I love it.

There’s a season for everything. After that season should have changed for you, persisting in that behavior makes you a loser. Sumlin’s got much more money than I do, but money isn’t everything and I actually look down on him as a man. I’m sure he doesn’t care, but that’s part of his problem.
