There's a thread on 247 laying down some good info right now. Lotta similar stuff to what I've heard.
Basically things are in limbo right now, with three potential end results occurring:
1: Sumlin leaves for the Colts or Titans job
2: Sumlin is terminated with cause (as I've said, we have more than enough dirt to do it)
3: The money for a new OC hire (Sumlin is telling the BOR he will get Meachum) is approved and Sumlin is in very hot water for 2016
It's basically a poker game, a dick measuring contest right now. The fact that Sumlin is actively shopping himself to the NFL while simultaneously trying to secure an OC to fallback on his job here puts us in a precarious situation. Lotta people want to fire him and go get Kellt/Herman/etc. before it's too late.

That's part of the issue
Some think he is just saying Meachum to buy time while he looks for an NFL job. If we knew he was unlikely to land an elite OC, he'd already be gone.

If he is actively looking for nfl jobs, he should be replaced here immediately, especially if the people that make hires are certain they could land a Herman. I know it's not that simple because of the money situation.

Firing Sumlin will be messy and both Herman and Kelly are long shots. The boosters better have a plan C in place before they open that can of worms. If it's true that Sumlin will be radioactive after being fired there's no reason not to fight it tooth and nail in court.
What I'm saying is that there better be crystal-clear 1080p video of him sniffing coke, preferably cutting the lines with two forms of government ID.

Probably going to push out until the end of the week too, supposedly it's still split on Sumlin. Plus when meacham falls through we'll be delayed further.
