9-3, with 10-2 definitely possible. I think ASU will trip us up...just a gut feeling. Ole Miss will be our shite the bed game, and Bama is going to roll everybody outside of Ohio State this year. Auburn is overrated (I see them a lot like A&M 2013 for some reason), and LSU is fricking due to lose to us.

Last year was a close game, even with LF in great form and a pathetic A&M defense.

I think y'all will be very similar on offense (good rush attack, very little pass threat) and will be somewhere between the same to a slight regression on defense. Meanwhile, we'll actually bring a run game to the table this year and will have some semblance of a defense. I think it will be enough.

Expecting another 1-2 loss(es) from LSU, OM, Miss St, or Arky, and hoping to get a W from an Alabama team at home. 9-3

Mostly Pat's assessment, but honestly, wishful thinking of "were due" is also involved.

I will definitely admit that if we have an olineman or dlineman go down before we get to you, I will be nervous.

It was a great game last year. Very close, one of those that I felt we had played so well yet may lose (see the last two home alabama games.) But blown call...meh. I've seen too many to feel like that is the total difference maker in the outcome of a game...see Peterson's non-interception vs bama/ the picked up Pass interference against auburn in 2004.

And I'm not a guy to bring up the 3rd and Chavis as I've said I think he is a great d-coordinator. You do have to admit he still has the old school mindset of prevent D as a 1 score lead protection in a time when it shouldn't be anymore.

As far as LSU's passing o, I don't see where every other school can claim such and such position will be better this year bc our guys are more experienced yet in the same breath think LSU will show little to no improvement in this area. Believe me, I remember Jordan Jefferson so I know that it is possible. Dudes best game was his first lol. But maybe its the p&g goggles on me but i think we will be improved offensively as a whole. We have a solid o-line, an experienced back field and wr corps, and two guys that have another year under their belt at qb. I think we will have a top 5 in the sec o and a top 3 d. Maybe I'm wrong, maybe tdecline is real, but I won't believe it until I see it.

FWIW I think LSU wins a minimum of 10 games this year and I think there will be at least a two way tie for the west crown. Just depends on who the losses are. I don't think we go undefeated. Too much versatility in styles in the west. The only advantage I see in our schedule is that we play people with similar styles back to back it seems. We have time to prepare for those teams with ms state and aub back to back and arky and bama back to back.

November is by far our toughest month with arky, bama, ole miss, and then y'all. But it will be a hell of a ride no matter what. Bring on the season!!!

I don't see that at all. I expect another 8 win season, 9 max.

Btw just to be clear, in the moment I DEFINITELY react as if one call cost us a game. Not trying to be a dick with that statement I just think once removed from the emotion of it, I can realize that the call isn't why we lost.

Also, I appreciate y'alls honest replies as to why this is the year.

Just my opinion, I think y'all are a year away, two at most from a Western division crown. If y'all give it time, I think y'all are building a team and a mentality that you can compete every year with the LSU, Aubs, Bama of the west. There is just so much talent and so much great coaching in this division that predicting the outcome of a season or even a game ahead of time is little more than guessing/gut feelings.

I thought we would beat bama last year, and lose to ole miss. I didn't think we would be embarrassed by arky. I definitely didn't think we would lose to notre dame.

A&M, BAMA, AUBURN, then 0 to 1 losses to one of the MS schools. I'm not buying the Ark hype at all.

ASU-W. This is the type of game Sumlin lives for and knows how to coach to win we do a 2014 South Carolina special on them, they are so stunned by the end of the 1st half that they cannot recover
Ball St-W
Nevada-W
Arkansas-W. I don't think their offense can keep up with what we are going to do to their deleted defense.
MSU-W They lost too much, boat race
Bama- toss up tough game to call, we'll see how the loss of cooper and their new qb hurts
Ole Miss- W no Bo, no way
USCe-W
Auburn-L
W. Car-W
Vandy-W
LSU-W Sumlin knows this could put his job in jeopardy faster than anything g else, he controls the offense personally for this one and we destroy them

If we can beet the (red arse) Sun Devils then we'll all be gay marriages.

If we beat Arkansas then we'll all be Big Dicks.

If we have beaten Arizona State AND Arkansas then we'll be undefeated when Alabama comes to town and we'll demolish them.

Beyond this I don't know shite. period.

I am.

The validity of the Ark hype will be determined in Jerry World.

Sadly I'm not optomistic. I'm just not.

I don't expect anything (beyond death). But Coach has called for a "double digit win" season.

So we'll see i guess...

LSU hasn't even been an objectively better team the last 3 years(based on overall results/not talent). Yall have scoreboard and that is ultimately what matters, but it's not really a matter of "getting over the hump" as much as it is two evenly matched teams and the law of averages. We have almost the same record the past three years, despite an incredible average talent differential. That talent gap starts closing THIS year.

Both teams have an unreal amount of returning contributors... So let's look at the big changes between the two:

We lost the WORST DC in the SEC and added a top 3 DC. A DC who is known for a straightforward/simple scheme, and for getting fast/physical/high effort play from
His defense. We should expect a quicker transition than most coaching changes. Our 2nd biggest deficiency was OL development/physicality. We have a TON of talent to work with, and bj Anderson was a hell of a recruiter, but he wasn't a good coach at all. Even our draft picks regressed. Our interior will be in 3pt stance finally. We were absurdly young/inexperienced at the 2 most important positions on our team (QB/WR) We played two first time starters at QB in an air raid, and 3 WRs playing their first year in D1 (2 new to the position). The position group that requires age/experience most (DL) has it for the first time.

LSU's biggest changes: a downgrade at DC, who specifically struggled against spread passing teams, and gameday play calling. A more complicated defensive scheme with a talent pool recruited purely off athleticism, not their ability to process and execute different/more complex schemes. Less depth on the DL. There's no doubt LSU returns plenty of talent. Much like us you played a lot of young players.

Im not saying it's a sure thing we best LSU, no game on the schedule is a sure thing. I wouldn't characterize it as getting over the hump either.

Arizona State - Win. The loss of their starting MLB is devastating for them as well as having to replace their left and right tackles. Slants and middle passes will be open all day.

Ball State - Win

Nevada - Win

Arkansas - Win. The loss of their top defenders will be too much. They won't get those 50-60 yard plays this year which were the difference between their horrible offense and 28 points.

Mississippi State - Win. Prescott has virtually no line this year. Allen will not throw the ball directly to Mississippi State linebackers like Hill did.

Alabama - Win. The reason I think this is the timing of the matchup. They will just be coming off a grueling stretch at Georgia then playing Arkansas while we'll have a bye week before their game.

at Ole Miss - Win. I'm not sold on them this year.

South Carolina - Win. They're just not that good this year.

Auburn - Win. Again. Timing. They play us right after Arkansas and Ole Miss. We play them after South Carolina.

Western Carolina - Win.

at Vanderbilt - Win.

at LSU - Loss. We may be due, but not in Baton Rouge against this version of LSU.

11-1

ASU- W
Ball State- W
Nevada- W
Arkansas- W- Will be another close one but I think we match up well with them. They won't be able to exploit our biggest weakness on defense (CB)

MSU- L- I know they lost a lot but I think people are sleeping on them a little bit. Prescott is still legit and I think Mullen is a solid coach. I see us finishing ahead of them in the standings but losing a close one here that we probably shouldn't

Bama- L- They are just too deep. It won't be anything close to the massacre of last year but I see them wearing us down and winning by 14ish. Also if we lose two in a row our fans start freaking our right around here

Ole Miss- W- I think they disappoint some this year personally. They won't be bad but I see them going 6-6 or 7-5. Also I think we come out strong after a loss to Bama

USCe- W- I could see them being bad this year honestly. We got a great draw from the east

Auburn- L- Another classic between us two IMO but we fall short this time

W Car- W
Vandy- W

LSU- W- will be a close, low scoring game IMO. I was close to making this a loss, but I think if we can stay relatively healthy the offense will be firing on all cylinders at this point in the year with Allen, Speedy, Kirk etc comfortable. With WCar and Vandy the two weeks before we also get a nice rest and recharge period

9-3 (5-3)

Honestly LSU Auburn Arkansas MSU and OM are all probably toss up type games. I have us going 3-2 in them.

Based on coaching. Chavis was a killer when it came to that. Steele was not at previous stops.

Chavis relied pretty heavily on man-to-man in the secondary.

that's how LSU has always managed to shut down WR like Evans, Julio, etc.

LSU's defense, in that sense, will not change very much. This defense is built around letting DBs cover 1 on 1.
