Jesus. I figured we'd lose because of our OL (at this point, anybody who trusts our offense to do anything with this OL is an idiot). But I didn't know how bad Allen's shoulder was fricked up. I figured it was fine. For Liucci to have better access and almost certain knowledge that Allen's shoulder was jacked, and STILL predict a victory is indefensible. I mean that's not just homerism, it's full-on delusion.

Now is the time for tArk members to start a competing site.

I think Louie Belina has hung up on two callers that called him Billy.

Alright someone screenshot this, you are about to see the only time in the history of the world that I will stick up for BL. Sumlin has such a hard stance on press and who gets access that texags basically is forced to kiss arse and sunshine pump to retain their credentials to stuff. Posters are mad because it's all positive spin you ever read and texags elite never ask the hard questions or say bad things about the program and its issues.
It's a catch 22 for texags, basically a no win situation for them.

Is Liucci still doing his "how DARE you insult me here at my place of business!?!?" bullshite?

To be fair, he defended Sherman until the day he was fired.
The site soured on Fran after the email thing in 2007 but they stuck with him a lot longer than anyone else.

While I agree with your premise, Liucci is such a cocksucker and often times a-hole to anyone that questions him, I have a hard time liking the guy

Doesn't help that he was buddy buddy with Sherman's son

Agree with everything you posted. I do not care for the guy and think he very unprofessional a lot of the time. Just pointing out the difficult situation they are in to try and juggle keeping access to football and writing what they want to in their articles. I only ever have a premium account when the run specials (currently have 9 weeks of premium for $9, would never pay $13 a month)

While I understand and agree up to a point, there are also plenty of examples of the local media being able to handle being around a surly HC (the New England media with the Patriots/Bill Belichick and the San Antonio media with the Spurs/Gregg Popovich come to mind).
Yes, asking the tougher questions may limit your access. Tough titty. As a media member, you have to expect that and draw the line just like the coach is drawing his. Does that mean there'll be some contention between the two parties? Absolutely. At the same time, though, if you're trying to present yourself as an impartial source of information, you're probably going to have to sacrifice some of the buddy buddy stuff. Just the nature of the business.
I don't hate or love Liucci one way or the other, but it sounds like he's learning this lesson the hard way.

Okay so somebody with stars get a "best of Liucci" post/thread going.

That look worries me a bit.

That's the look of future NFL superstar wondering what the frick he just spent 60 minutes fighting for.

Just got through with a little stint over there. It's crazy.
frick Liucci. I'm not paying money to learn something 2 hours earlier than I can for free

Hey Myles, you just busted through the line on ST against Bama and blocked a punt at a critical juncture? Joke's on you, foo'. We ain't tryna score
Yo Myles, you just popped a pass into the air AND picked it off? Tell you what we'll do. frick yo play, we're only here to get 3 points so we won't get fined. How you like dem apples, MG.
Now go do something else amazing so we can shite on that, too. We'll be here all night.

Myles Garrett effectively scored our only three points of the night.

quote:The problem is Liucci isn't really a "media member." Someone who works for a paper or a larger blog network can rely on backup from their superiors and gets paid even if the coach hates them. Liucci isn't a particularly great writer and Texags is essentially monetizing access. Without access the only reason to visit is the forum which is almost certainly a money loser when the stars drop below a certain threshold.
