Cupp was only 4* composite. 247 had him as the #16 overall player. Rivals #134. He wasn't even ranked at all on rivals the Aug before his SR year. ESPN split the difference as a high 4* and 65th overall.

Rumor (from LSU’s side of things) is O’s in home with Evans went poorly. He’s taken some LSU stuff down off social media and they have started putting out feelers to other RB targets.
