Mond’s continued development will go a long way to landing a top QB recruit. If Mond can become a fringe heisman candidate while knocking of a program we’re supposed to lose to, it will show recruits that Jimbo hasn’t lost his touch.

If Jimbo can continue to get a top 5 recruiting class while getting top talent nationally while getting key pieces in Texas but missing out on some top Texas recruits would you be happy with that or would you consider him a failure?

Oh no, that would absolutely be a success, and I don’t care where the players come from if he’s able to achieve the above. I think some, or at least myself, are concerned that this class won’t end up being top 5, and to win what we all want, we have to continue landing classes right around there. It’s still early, but we are picking up a lot of 3 stars, and that has me concerned.

I agree. But I don’t think a Top 5 class is in the cards for this year. We simply aren’t able to recruit at the same level in Texas as tu and OU at this point. High school kids in this state have been fed a narriative that we cannot and never will win in the SEC. Jimbo has to change that to start recruiting at an elite level in state.

Instead he is building a system with kids that can play, are coachable, and are willing to redshirt. He is adding depth and addressing needs.

This approach is similar to what Saben started with at Alabama ten years ago.

We will be lucky to get a T15 class if current recruiting trends continue

It will be a smaller class, unless we flush a ton of players. Also, we are going to be balanced pretty evenly between three and four star players. Didn't say it won't be a good class for needs, but rating-wise be prepared for significant disappointment if you are expecting T10

Fisher has said he expects 25 in this class, I'm not sure how the numbers will work, but Perroni said Fisher wouldn't have said that unless he believes it to be true.

Were you happy with the 2019 class? This class has a higher composite average than last years right now.

This class still has potential to be salty, we have a good chance on the below players that are highly rated and uncommitted

Vernon Broughton - DL
Haynes King - QB
Chris Morris - OL
Garrett Hayes - OL
Alfred Collins - DL
Devon Achane - RB/Slot
Daniel Ngata - RB
Princely U - DL
Josh Eaton - CB
Dontae Manning - CB
Xavion Alford - S

Adding 9 of those players would put us top 5 so top 10 is absolutely not out of the question

Apparently manning decommitted last night but hasn't gone public with it yet. This seems likes its going to happen soon

That's a big flip if we get Manning from BlowU.

fwiw, since people in this thread are freaking out over where our ranking will be, adding manning to this class right now will put us at #8 and will only increase our average ranking which is already top 10

i just put in what i think is a pretty reasonable best case scenario into the class calculator. and while i dont necessarily 100% expect to get everyone in this class, i dont think its unreasonable to think its at least a legitimate possibility

demas
ngata
jaylon jones
broughton
king
chris morris
omeire
manning
garrett hayes
moose
diggs
alfred collins
achane
princely
eaton
chibuzo
raikes
bankhead
blake smith
jordan jefferson
deondre jackson

thats 21 kids and will put us at 286.48. that would be a better class than last year, rankings wise with 6 fewer spots. that would have been good for 3rd last year, 6th in 2018, 8th in 2017, and 5th in 2016

that would be a top 10, and fringe top 5, with only 21 spots filled. just looking at the rankings, probably anywhere between 8th and 5th this year. we would have an absolutely elite average ranking as well

people are freaking out over a class that would be absolutely elite before even being full. mainly at linebacker and safety

Only us would ignore the two high 4 star WR’s that committed recently and instead focus on the 3 star FB, DT, and blocking TE.
