Apparently he did, and promptly left.

Did Burns decommit?
Edit: He did.

There are two sounds you hear.
1. The champagne corks popping in Baton Rouge and Austin.
2. Dr. RC tripping over himself to post the next "L" gif.

Ouch this cycle is rough.
Hate to say it but its looking like next season is more critical than we maybe originally thought.

quote:not really. i think its clear henson backed off ogunbiyi and i wouldnt be shocked to see some more processing being done with any of the other four. losing burns sucks but was expected when they offered. it will pretty much end any shot we had with roy and williams but, once again, we are still in more than a capable spot with our safety, corner, and defensive line class. imo

I want to buy into that but it really seems like recruiting took a hit when Brewster left and we haven’t recovered. Add in the “Texas is back” media cycle (plus them just getting plain aggressive like how they put Beaty on the payroll) and I can’t shake the feeling that we are headed towards a top 15 but not top 10 class.

The class is thin right now, but the guys we project to stick through the end are some of the elite guys we'll sign this cycle. And until major domino pieces start to fall in the wrong direction, I don't see any reason to think this staff won't put together a great class.

i get that its easy to feel that way considering we have had two kids drop out more recently than any one has committed, and texas has 100% been banging that drum relentlessly, and we are going a bit slower with this class considering its going to be smaller to begin with, but we do have the two most significant head to head victories to date between us and them and we have made major inroads on broughton and collins and now some thing we outright lead for broughton
its too early to freak out about this stuff. we just had a real positive weekend and are still in the thick of things for real big time players and have already scored two monumental recruiting victories. i have a hard time believing this wont be a top 10 class

This. And that last year's class was just amazing on how we filled the holes we have (lb, anyone?) and upgraded positions. Signing day is sooooo far away. Keep the faith.

I appreciate your perspective and you are correct that we don't see the real indication of a mediocre class so far (aka a bunch of commitments from third choice three star players). I will calm down.
I just have to keep reminding myself that 247 has an incentive to keep sips engaged this offseason via questionable CBs or eventually inflated rankings.
As someone who lives in Austin I am still pissed at Georgia for enabling all this shite.

I'm curious on how 2020 QB recruiting will go. We had the false start in Hornsby's commitment, and now there is speculation that the staff may have cooled on him a bit.

LSU didn't help things by getting swept in baseball either.

Unfortunately LSU represents my best hope for some peace and quiet next offseason. I hope they kick Texas's dick in so hard in football that the freaks in Austin get the free sex change they have long been angling for.

I think it’s Elijah Robinson now, was him and Brewster. Might be wrong though. Either way Elijah Robinson is a hell of an assistant
