I don't know the number of WRs returning for next season, but I can only think of three that made much impact in games this year: Buckley; Ausbon; and Paul. Assuming Kirk leaves for the NFL, that is.

The new coaching staff might be expecting several backup WRs to transfer out.

It’s astounding reading the sip 24/7 that it’s so pessimistic. They normally sunshine pump just like any recruiting bunch so to see the dejection is kind of surprising.

Cause they know what is coming next year "Jimbo time". Plus they are realizing that Herman is a fraud. Here is some quotes from their fans on Hook'em website few weeks ago

quote:

As a follower of all the sports writers at the Statesman, and a Longhorn football fan since 1961, I am very upset over the faux coach, T. Herman. In my mind, he was and is, an opportunist that did well in Houston due primarily to having an excellent quarterback, and perhaps a better than average roster, especially on defense. He probably is an okay coach, but not great, and not the coach for Texas. He came here demanding a too high salary, and an upgrade of facilities before either was earned. In all seriousness, he is VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! One might expect, or at least hope for more professionalism than that of a 15-year-old kid chewing bubble gum. After all, he is being paid $5 million+. What are we getting for our money? A bubble gum chewing loser. I think you guys need to mention this in an article.

In my opinion, Herman is NOT the right guy for UT. Even with all of his bluster & special coaching methods he can’t coach well enough to have a winning team. This ship is sinking & it looks like Herman is on course to take the ship & entire crew down. Sadly something’s gone wrong.

quote:

However I have a question that I would like to ask Coach Herman that frustrates the heck out of me!! “Coach Herman, you often quote the definition of Insanity is doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results! You might call that the Texas offense but I would say it is CERTIFIABLY INSANE TO RUN THE READ OPTION WITH SHANE BUECHELE, NOT ONCE BUT OVER AND OVER WITH THE SAME RESULTS….LOST YARDAGE!!” THE LINE CAN’T BASE BLOCK AND SHANE IS NO RUNNING THREAT! JUST RUN TO THE BALL CARRIER CAUSE SHANE WILL PROBABLY STILL BE THERE TOO! DIDN’T TCU TACKLE BOTH AT THE SAME TIME!! I cringe every time we run that play and the defense is in the back field before Mr. Excitement (Shane) can hand off the ball! When your line can’t block one-on-one, why not run old fashion run plays, traps, pulling guards, student body left, counters, bootlegs, roll outs and tell Shane to throw the ball before the receiver makes his break!!

I’m honestly surprised Herman didn’t do anything to adjust his offense to Buchele’s skill set.

Tim Brewster? @TimBrewster
#Aggieland welcome the Big Fella to CS!!Wowww!!#GigEmGang18!!

Liucci:
quote:

-So recruiting ace Tim Brewster tweeted on Friday evening that the "Big Fella" was in town, leading to all kinds of speculation as to who he was referring to. As many have since figured out, Brew was talking about longtime OU commit Brey Walker, the top-ranked prospect in the Sooner State and one of the most coveted tackle prospects in the country. The Moore (OK) Westmoore HS product is a 6-7, 335-pound manchild who Brewster and head coach Jimbo Fisher had prioritized at Florida State. Despite eventually choosing to play at home in the Big 12, Walker's connection with the Seminole coaches and his primary recruiter was strong enough that he officially visited FSU in September.

The fact that Brewster was able to convince Walker to make a stealth, pre-early Signing Day visit to College Station to sit down with he and Fisher for a second time certainly qualifies as an eye-opener and has to have Lincoln Riley and the Sooners scrambling and at least a little nervous.

Fact is, A&M offers Brey a couple of things that FSU didn't. First, it's much closer to home. Second, he could play college football in the Southeastern Conference, an opportunity that neither FSU nor OU can present. The wildcard here is Jimmy Turner. Closer to home, the SEC factor and perhaps a position coach he clicks with more than Coach Trickett at Florida State...could that be enough to cause the instant-impact tackle to reconsider his entire recruitment? Probably not, but Brewster's visit coup certainly makes this something worth watching and we're hearing that the visit went better than even the Walkers themselves (he made the trip with his parents) expected.

Considering the fact that Riley and the Sooners continue to push to flip a pair of longtime Aggie commits in Bobby Brown and DeShaun White, I'd say turnabout is fair play. It's still a tremendous longshot, but this would also certainly qualify as payback for OU stealing Creed Humphrey away from Jimmy Turner last year and keeping the coveted center north of the Red River. Even if it's not Walker, the Aggies are going to find a high-profile player or two that they flip between now and February, that much is obvious.

-If nothing else, getting a five-star talent like Brey Walker in town for an official visit after arriving in town just a couple of days ago is an excellent example of what A&M fans - and rival recruiters around the region and across the country - can expect from Brewster and Fisher's entire Aggie staff moving forward. Just stop for a second and think about the power moves Fisher and Co. have made in less than two weeks on the job. The Ags are pushing hard for several longtime targets and closing in on several (more on that in a moment) but have also worked their way squarely into the mix for both the nation's top-ranked JUCO and high school tight ends in Dominick Wood-Anderson and Carterville (IL) standout Luke Ford, Brey Walker, the No. 1 overall recruit in the country and Georgia commit Josh Fields and are also pushing hard to flip Alabama commit Vernon Jackson and Texas pledge Keondra Coburn. After closely watching this staff - which is still a long way from being complete with virtually the entire defensive crew still to come - work over the past two weeks and learning how they do things, I feel pretty comfortable in saying that this is merely the tip of the iceberg.
