We've done it before.

And the same reason why "why we're not the type of school to fire a coach mid-season" is the same reason why we aren't the type of school that will win National Championships.

The two biggest strikes against Sumlin are his terrible divisional record and his terrible home conference record. He has been very fortunate that we have owned Arkansas.

I think the sportswriters that say that the administration has been unfair to Sumlin are lazy with their analysis. They focus on overall win percentage without looking behind the numbers.

Not firing a HC mid season has zilch to do with winning titles. Bama didn't even fire Mike Dubose midseason in a year they lost to both Southern Miss and UCF (in just their 5th year in FBS).

Yes it does.

Look, this ain't he SWC. This is big boy football. Every school in this league knows when they've got to pull the plug, except us. I'm tired of being nice, cordial, "classy." None of that shite wins titles. And yes, Alabama pulled the plug on a coach before he played a down.

A&M's attitude is a pussiefied, beta, subordinate approach. If you are serious about winning you have to act like it. And we don't.

This coach should have been fired three years ago, and you know it, RC. That should tell you all you need to know about this school. We will be everyone's bitch, regardless of our affiliation, until we quit acting like it.

Man up and admit that this loser needs to be fired, fricking NOW! Or go stick a tampon in your twat, just like we've done for the last two decades.

No. It really doesn't. There is zero evidence to support that. Just b/c you are pissed and want blood doesn't mean that cutting bait now will yield national titles. I'm sorry, it just doesn't work that way.

Never mind that the writing is on the wall anyway. Everyone knows he is done. Firing him now really doesn't accomplish anything. He'll be gone after LSU. No muss, no fuss.

This is why I hate 11am games. I never know what to do with myself after drinking so much so early. This weekend is an exception due to opening weekend of hunting taking priority over drinking. Sat in the stand for 2 hours this afternoon and didn't see a thing. And I still had more fun than you did. It was actually a lot of fun.

I think the whole fire him mid season or after it argument is silly. You fire the coach when you have the next guy lined up and ready to go. Otherwise you end up looking stupid like LSU and not having a good plan and then having to roll with orgeron because Herman went to Texas.

Fire him when we’ve got the next guy ready to roll, even if it’s a guy who’s going to finish the season with his current team.

Edit: I will say I agree with BC about being too nice though. After every single home game I see a thread or two on texags about how some visitors commented how nice and classy we were. F*** that, I want to be the known as the fanbase who crushed their hopes and dreams of a good season. So tired of moral victories.

And keeping him, when we all know the inevitable, doesn't accomplish anything either.

I stand by my statement that we need to let him go now, name an interim, and work on keeping recruits in the fold for the December signing. Firing him in late November is too much bad press just before the early signing.

At least if you do it now you can control the narrative and the shock factor of losing the coach will have worn off by December.

And yes, it is also punitive towards Sumlin. It sends a message that we are serious about winning and that we aren't going to put up with this shite. In contrast to our program historically.
