Not surprising as they been high on him for a while now. He was on the cover of the magazine in ‘22 along w/Joey McGuire.

Watching out for one of their own

Is it really that big a deal about the THSCA? Like Jimbo apparently didn't make it one year because his son was sick and some media folks are just running with it like Jimbo didn't care about the TX coaches?
I get the feeling it's the TX coaches wanting their asses kissed

I want this guy, it looks like he knows stuff

It shouldn’t be. Hopefully our dumb boosters don’t choose to prioritize it when hiring the next coach

What about Matt Rhule? Is Tex Ags worth reading any "inside" scoop for at this point?
Posted on 11/20/23 at 1:30 pm to Captain Crown
Rhule is in his first year at Nebraska. High buyout. I'd love to see Fisch actually get some run because what he has done at AZ is impressive.

The THSCA is full of self absorbed divas who think their shite smells like roses. They all want to have their egos stroked by colleges before they allow recruiters on their campus.
The truth is that 99% of TX HS coaches suck. They all get by because this state is loaded with natural talent that carries their sorry asses. They're the reason why so many defensive players in this state become busts.

Way back when I used to work local news in Tyler I got to interview a lot of the coaches in East Texas. Robert E Lee (renamed Tyler Legacy) HC Mike Owens was something else. That dude wouldn't even take out his dip half the time.

Rhule buyout starts at 7 mil a year and goes down a mil every year, so 6 mil depending upon when the clock starts.

So no chance on Dan Campell? Also what about Aaron Glenn?
Posted on 11/21/23 at 9:45 am to Captain Crown
The timing is wrong with Campbell. Things are going too well in Detroit. He would have taken the job previously. No college for head coaching experience for Glenn. I don't think he's a good fit.

What do we think about Jedd? He's got a nice resume with a mix of NFL and College. He's done a nice job turning around Arizona too.
