Have y'all seen the report about a proposed inquiry from the Longhorns and Sooners about joining the SEC? Sure hope there's no fire to that smoke.

I have no doubt it’s nothing more than a rumor created by sip reporters to help their floundering recruiting. They hired a new coach and he is getting no first year bump, and they are staring at a 7 win season, again

LHN and Okie Lite kill any chance of it happening imo.

I think it will happen, if not now then in 4-5 years. Only thing that is odd is the timing with the new media deal, unless this was kept under wraps and part of that

That was my thought as well, but I didn't like the sound of "an announcement could be made within a couple of weeks," unless of course that answer is NO, NO, NO! Not now, not ever.

Nah, it came via SEC official. It's weird that it's not being shot down by either administration. That would imply to me that there is some viable possiblity of it happening. If it was a no, or looked unlikely, then both schools would shoot down the rumors so as not to torpedo the conference they are a part of. It'll be interesting to see what happens.

I always knew they secretly envied our move. This confirms the hell out of it.
Having said that, I hope A&M and Mizzou vote no and also convince Florida and South Carolina to do the same.

If true it most certainly proves that envy. When did all this start? 2012? It's taken this long for those two schools to want to inquire (beg) for a piece of the action. This has to be agony for tu.

Either way, has to be the end of the Big12, right? How do the other schools go on knowing the revenue teams are looking to deal them out?

Okie St said they will do what ever is nessasary to see that OU doesn't leave them in the dust, does Waco have any wackos left in Austin to do their bidding on a political level? Then once all those hurdles are jumped then you have the one state schools in SEC coming together to block them via the approval vote. I'm sure it's just a huge coincidence this drops on A&M media day. BTW frick tu.

Also, don't forget Baylor's likely reaction:
No! Please! Don't go!!! We'll suck your dicks!!!

If Texas joins, I'm fine with it. The one I don't understand is Oklahoma. They don't have many TV sets and could easily become another Nebraska with a steak of a few losing seasons.
If the SEC is serious about increasing their revenue, they need to look past Oklahoma and take a school from North Carolina.
The other thing to wonder is of Clemson and Florida State are making inquiries to the SEC? There's only two spots left in this conference, so now is not the time to sit idle if you ever thought about leaving the ACC.

It's a more direct path to the Natty in the SEC. They get fortunate and beat Bama they are in the mix every year that happens. They will also grab more high valued recruits. All in all, It's nothing but a win/win for OU.

I don’t agree. They were virtually guaranteed a spot in the CFP by winning the Big12 - and they still just needed to beat Bama after a schedule full of Kansas and Techs.
Now they not only have to slip one by Bama, but do it after playing an SEC schedule.
What’s the motivation for a kid to go to OU now if he can’t be guaranteed a conference championship?

Under the proposed 12-team playoff, Oklahoma will be in the mix most years by being Big 12 champs. They've been the Big 12 champs 14 out of 25 times. It's going to be much harder for them to make the playoffs in the SEC.

Yeah. I will actually give them credit for sacrificing that but I’m sure they knew they risked obscurity if they didn’t do this. They would basically be locked into a playoff spot every year in the Big 12 under the proposed format

I’m going to be honest, after listening to looch I’m thinking if the legislature doesn’t stop it we’ll have horn in the sec for the 23 or 24 season

It’s going to happen, it’s time to transition to acceptance
