We've have years here and there with the recruiting success of this year and last year, but we've never sustained it like this. Not even close. And he's doing this after being unranked most of the year and finishing 7-5 going into a Texas Bowl bid.

What's it going to be like when we're 10-0 next year, heading into our final 2 games with Alabama and LSU?

Thank God we moved to the SEC, and thank God we had leadership who weren't afraid to make a power move like guarantee a 10 year contract for an elite coach.

LSU fans who lurk on the forum are going to swear you are trolling them with this.

But I agree 100%.

I always said he and his staff would earn their money in December by keeping this class together after a season with some bad losses, so far they have done that and then some

What we are doing with Evans alone is impressive enough

I’m thankful he laughed at and rejected LSU’s puny 7 year 6.5 per year offer

He's a man on fire on the recruiting trail. Now its time to win some more football games. We return a ton and inject more high in talent as freshman. 2020 and 2021 needs to be 10+ win seasons.

I've heard through the grapevine that he actually accepted an offer from a few rogue admins/boosters to go to LSU (allegedly, of course). All the paperwork was ready to go and had even reached Jimbo's desk. Fortunately for us, the LSU powers that had the last 'say' killed the deal.

I didn't get an explanation as to why the deal was killed, but my guess is that it came down to two things; higher ups had loyalty to Les Miles and the money was too much for them. I can't imagine how LSU admins could justify signing a high-dollar coach at a time when the state was looking to make cuts. Football team wasn't doing bad either, so such a drastic change wasn't really warranted.

Like I said, this is what I've heard allegedly happen from someone that was close to the situation.

I heard this at the game that year from a former player who said he was friends with boosters. I think the AD nixed it after they beat us.

I just want to say that I think Fadil Diggs is going to be a monster for us. I think he's going to contribute right away. His stats from his senior year are insane. I'm thinking it was something like 20 sacks, 100 tackles, and 1000 receiving yards.

Go watch his film. Dude is instant impact. He looks like a Sunday player already.

Edit: Wrong thread.

It actually happened at halftime of the 2015 game which we were losing at the time.

You can thank the likes of Jindal and Alexander for that, which all but neutered Alleva.
