Considering he wanted to eliminate the department, I think it's safe to say there's a good chance he'll do exactly that. Perry is very much an "all of the above" kinda guy when it comes to energy sources. He's pro-coal, pro-fracking and pro-expanded deepwater drilling, but also pro-wind power.
No one will mistake me for a fan of Trump, but this is not a bad pick. Certainly not embarrassing for our state and school. And really, the majority of Trump's nominations have been decent to fabulous (Ben Carson at HUD notwithstanding).
