Not upset with that result either. They showed great effort, and the coaches gave them a chance for the most part

I'm not sure pleased is the right way I feel. I'm never happy after a loss but we exceeded expectations.

Now there’s a phrase I haven’t seen since 2012. Let’s pump the brakes just a bit, we looked pretty decent but we also squeaked last arky and sc. we are inconsistent at best right now, let’s get some more data before we say he’s coached anybody up.

Offense was about what I expected (a lot of nothing with a few big plays thrown in), but the defense played far better than I thought they would.

you just proved that you can can play with anybody in the country

outside of a marginal fumble call; this game could have gone your way (the point wsing & attitude shift surrounding that call were enough to sink most teams)

You still have a tough schedule ahead of you

Gators, Tigers & War Eagles are the obvious games left for you guys

Y'all need to win one of those & preferably two

good luck the rest of the way

I’d prefer to win than have moral victories. But then, I’ve always had high expectations and don’t tolerate excuses for failure

But that is me

The way the team responded to that juncture was excellent.

I though so - the way Bama marched down and scored immediately was a "here we go again" moment

your team responded with amazing resilience

safe to say the boys have not quit on their coach...

i know you're scared that sumlin might win 9 games, i am too. i've finally let it go a little and figure if he can go 9-3 then i'm ok with him coming back. not 8-4, not 9 wins with a bowl game, but 9-3.

uf is a bad team. om is a bad team. lsu is a bad team. i think thats 3 more wins plus nm. we might even beat auburn if mond keeps getting better. i think we probably beat state too. i still wouldn't put money on 9-3, but it won't suprise me if it happens.

ima root for the ags and let the chips fall where they may.

I refuse to force myself to be miserable after that game. I think 9-3 with this team, Sumlin not only deserves, but probably needs to stay. It's entirely possible we fall apart again, and then I'll go right back (and rightly so) to call for him to get fired. But until then, this is the first time since 2012 his team has responded from a loss and got better and not cratered.

This is fool's gold. When Florida pushes our shite in next week, you'll see.

I'll admit I'm hesitant. We still have Florida, Auburn and LSU coming up, and I am not so sure we can't win them all, but Sumlin has the ability to lose all three.

and if he does he'll be shown the door

BUT the way the young team is playing, I'm starting to root for them to win out, and if they do Sumlin will have earned the right to coach them for a while longer

Let's examine that a bit further.

2012 - Lost to Florida. Next opponents was SMU

2012 - Lost to LSU. Next opponent was a bad Auburn team

2013 - Lost to Alabama. Next opponent was SMU

2013 - Lost to Auburn. Next opponent was Vanderbilt

2013 - Lost to LSU. Lost next game vs. Missouri

2013 - Lost to Missouri. Won bowl game

2014 - Lost to Mississippi State. Lost next game vs. Ole Miss

2014 - Lost to Ole Miss. Next game was 59-0

2014 - Lost to Alabama. Next game was UL-Monroe

2014 - Lost to Missouri. Lost next game vs. LSU

2014 - Lost to LSU. Won bowl game

2015 - Lost to Alabama. Lost next game vs. Ole Miss

2015 - Lost to Ole Miss. Next game was South Carolina

2015 - Lost to Auburn. Next game was Western Carolina

2015 - Lost to LSU. Lost Bowl Game and had 2 quarterbacks transfer

2016 - Lost to Alabama. Next game was New Mexico State

2016 - Lost to Mississippi State. Lost next game to Ole Miss

2016 - Lost to Ole Miss. Next game was UTSA

2016 - Lost to LSU. Lost bowl game.

2017 - Lost to UCLA. Next game was Nicholls

2017 - Lost to Alabama. Next game is Florida

In all but one case when A&M faced an inferior opponent the next game, they won (Ole Miss 2016).

In every case in which they faced an equal or better opponent, the streak continued.

I'm not so sure about this. Will be first true road game for Mond, and our offense still has major issues, but I feel better about this game than i did a week ago. I still think we lose a close one.
