That's a little harsh, I think. Olin Buchanan is definitely not a homer, but then... he didn't go to A&M, either. There may be a connection there. He pulls for all Texas schools, for example.
I don't think Hunter Shurtleff is bad at all, either, but he only appears on the weekly fan show.
Jorts spouts out homer game predictions, but when way wrong doesn't own up to it the next week. (A&M was going to destroy Auburn, for example). But I don't do the forums and don't care about 'em, so I have a nearsighted view. But I admit, he's annoying.
The most annoying to me is clearly Gabe, and it isn't close. That guy sure likes to hear himself talk. I really get rubbed the wrong way by guys who ask a question then interrupt the reply with his own wisdom, which he does every damn day.

My wife is a "legend" on TA because of years of socializing on the General Board. She actually knows a number of people on there in real life. My wife is also a high school English teacher.
One of her friends, another Texags Legend and teacher, got a little drunk one night and ripped apart something that Liucci had written based on his poor grammar, diction, etc. She essentially said that his writing skills were disgraceful for anyone trying to pass himself off as a journalist, even a sports journalist.
The end result, this chick received a permaban from Liucci's mother, who is apparently on staff there. This happened four or five years ago.

Ummm... I didn't see anything to disagree with in that story. The defense played their worst game in a season of bad games, and the offense failed to extend the lead when given chances.

Yeah chin pubes' mom is his accountant. She is in charge of all the TexAgs money.

I neither love nor hate TA, just use it for what information I can glean. Never really got into any board drama over there though. Well, except for that one time....
And I actually like Gabe Bock save for his uber long questions where he'll frame the answer he's looking for, but he's hardly the only journalist guilty of that.

This is the kind of mouthbreathing jocksniffer you'd expect to see buddying up to small town high school coaches and players down at the local drive-in.
1. Brent didn't go to A&M and doesn't claim to be an Aggie, just married to one. Who the frick cares what Jorts considers to be a real Aggie.
2. Brent's a reporter, not a spokesman for the program or a booster. What's hard to understand about that?

The whole "talk about" thing is so common with beginner sports talk guys that it's become a cliche. I much prefer listening to professionals who know how to get the most out of their interview subjects instead of trying to verbally masturbate all over them.

Texags is ok, but there are lots of coddled children on it and Luicci does get drunk and act like a diva from time to time. The only thing that ever bugs me is the double standards for some of the golden child posters. Gabe is good people and does a heck of a job. The content and interviews make it worth the sub alone.

I posted on rivalries in its heyday. Jolts was a ringleader and pretty darn funny but everybody got on his jock during realignment and his posting/moderating in the hoops boards went a bit over the top.
Especially Kennedy stuff. Terrible that Kennedy came down with the disease. Sorry for his family to go through that.... But Aggie Hoops has regressed to pre Billy G/Turgeon days.

I loved Texags when it was conference realignment time and I was crushing Anti-SEC posters, sip posters and pro-"stick with Texas whatever the cost" posters left and right,
Nowadays I honestly read shaggy much more and only go to Texags for the links *ducks*.

I still check out TA but rarely post anymore. The quality of discussion around the games has really dropped and I have no intention of ever paying for a subscription.
There are an amazing number of knee-jerk, drama posts on TA after we drop a game.
