The curse of the overreactive extension.

The curse of having no reasonable backup at QB. And maybe the O line needs to be better.

Let's recap:

1999 season - 9 quarters without an offensive TD, 51-6 and 37-0 back to back losses. Shut out 24-0 in Sandusky's final game.

2005 season - worst pass defense in 1A, Iowa State 42 at A&M 14.

2011 season - How to blow 2+ score leads in the 2nd half, by Mike Sherman.

It's year 4. He has zero excuses for the team to look like this.

Of course he isn't. We gave him the dumbest fricking contract in sports.

A good HC wins with the hand he’s dealt.

Aren't you forgetting a Sumlin extension?

I loved all the Zoo threads about backing the truck up to keep Jimbo and Elko, as if there was a bidding war going on to outspend our boosters.

2014 was different than the others because it still looked like it could improve going into the next year.

So who do we hire that is a guaranteed upgrade? I’m all ears. Cause if you are going to fire him, it better be someone that is better, lest we end up like texass and start rolling through coaches every 4 years because we don’t win 10 every season.

Yes he called a bad game vs Arkansas and tonight isn’t his best work.

You promote Elko and get a competent play caller.

Get over your love for Elko, dude has never been a head coach. He might be good running a program, or a total disaster.

He wouldn't be worse than Slocum.

Play calling and coaching isn’t the problem. There is a terrible qb behind center. The guy has no awareness nor touch on his passes.

Slocum won the conference 4 times, went 123–47–2, and never once had a losing record.

Yes, Elko could be FAR worse.

Stop acting like Slocum was some god awful program ruining coach. It's painfully asinine and flat out false.

No such thing as guaranteed. You have to hire a guy that’s got the fire, the look in his eyes and the attitude of a winner. Jimbo has 0 out of 3.

"Wouldn't be worse than Slocum" is an upgrade over this shite show.

About Slocum never having a losing record: it took an all time terrible blown call at Heinz Field and a miracle win over Oklahoma to keep 6-6 from becoming 4-8 in 2002.

Aka, you’ve got no clue. There’s no sure fire upgrade out there we can get. Look at what happened to the sips when they fired Mack Brown, they’ve been through 3 coaches in the last decade and didn’t win anything.

Be careful what you wish for, the grass isn’t always greener on the other side.
