Kyler and Kevin are both class acts. Kevin was a great All-SWC QB for the Aggies in the 80s winning multiple conference championships.

The words "Kevin Murray" and "class act" should never be inferred as equal in any sentence.

Wrong. Kevin was my QB in college. Strong-minded and his teammates loved playing with him. His persona was why we won SWC championships. You don't know what you're talking about.

I really don't get all the hate for Kevin Murray. Yeah, he was probably a jerk, definitely surly, but we didn't have ESPN to check into everyone's bowel movements back then and him being a jerk just didn't matter. At all. The man won two SWC championships for us! And he sure as hell never did this:

None of us know what was promised to Kyler during recruiting, but the one thing we know for sure is ALL OF US would have called for Sumlin's head if he had not landed Kyler. I imagine (though certainly don't know) that he promised Kyler the starting job early on. Promise not delivered.

Sumlin mishandled both QBs so badly that I don't see how you can blame dad. Kyler was apparently a douchebag that got benched for a confrontation with a coach. Nobody can blame Kevin for that.

Doesn't make my opinion about Kevin Murray shopping his son to Charlie Strong 2 weeks before National Signing Day making him a piece of shite wrong.

Yep, that last minute trip to Austin ended up foreshadowing a lot it would appear.

At this point I think the blame is pretty equal across all parties. Kyler for being an entitled brat who thought he should be immediately playing, Kevin for meddling in the program and allegedly making Sumlin promise playing time in the first year, Sumlin for mismanaging the whole situation and running off both QBs, and lastly Spavital for not knowing how to be a good OC.

There’s a lot of blame on the coaches, read Jake Hubenak’s article on texags, it’s the one time I paid for a full month of premium, and it was money well spent. The QB room was broken and horribly mismanaged, that is clear.

Lastly, there is only one absolute certainty: that is Sumlin had to do whatever it took to land Kyler. That’s about the only slack I’ll give him. He couldn’t lose a legacy, 5 star QB, to tu or anyone else for that matter. He’d have been ripped to shreds by the media and our fanbase if that had happened. So he was in a difficult spot, but he was paid 5 million a year to manage difficult situations when it comes to managing a roster and recruits. And he failed miserably at that, Arizona will learn that lesson soon enough.

I cant blame Kevin for teaching his son to be a douche?

Apparently nobody in his life was willing to tell him to grow the frick up and it looks like his body never got the message either.

Exactly this. He couldn't afford to NOT land Murray as a recruit.

One only need to watch how Kyler's dad behaved on signing day. He's an a-hole. Always will be. Thinks A&M owed him something and they owed his kid.

frick them both.
