I don't care if we get Malik back honestly after how he acted post commitment. I mean it would be nice but if we got Chavis I'm confident he can coach up who we have committed plus another solid 4 star

Only point I will make is that Brice was 100% dead on with Malik from the get go, and he took a lot of flak for saying the fact that we didn't have a DC was really hurting us (when he first said it)

I wouldn't get your hopes up, but
1) Chavis is a gamechanger. He's been a top 5 DC for 10+ years.
2) That Texas Bowl was just awful. Arkansas went full Deliverance on Texas' arse for 60 minutes (on both sides of the ball). Not only that, Texas is losing a lot of their top defensive players this offseason, so it's going to get worse before it gets better (if it does). It also proved that the big boy football is played in the SEC. I mean that was the last place team in the West and they looked like they could have competed for the Big 12 title.

Yeah that would be amazing.
Still, he throws kind of a little tantrum that he couldn't get let in on the hire, swears he's all UT. UT has one bad game, we make a home run hire and all the sudden he wants to jump ship? Meh.
I'm not saying we should turn him down but this hire would turn some heads if it happened and I would rather push for a different big time LB after how it played out
