So wait, are we to assume that Sumlin has moved on from bud Foster? This is impossible to follow. I think I'm going to quit.

He's moved on to middle school coaches. I checked every forum I could find 8x today and couldn't find out anything therefore this is going terribly. Also, I have a terrible wart on my foot.

Absolutely. They ruined their own team with that Leach pogrom. It was based on a lie wielded as a cudgel by jealous old men who didn't like Leach's persona, or that he was bigger than the program. Idiots.
As had been pointed out, they CAN'T fire KK. If they did it today, they'd owe him a check something like $17.8MM! Those morons gave him a guaranteed contract. Tech just can't afford that. Hell, 99% of programs couldn't either. They are stuck with him for a loooong time.

I have a family member who is a former member of the staff of a program not named A&M who still keeps in close touch with his old friends there, one particularly well-connected person especially. This person's friends (it's a small community) over at A&M have said that even the other coaches only know that we're offering a large sum. They don't have jack shite for details, who is where in the running, who the target is now, where they are in negotiations, nada. In the past this kind of information was readily available. I get good inside scoops this way. Right now, truthfully, nothing. This guy is totally legit, good ol boy, not creepy, doesn't sell info, loved by everyone. The un-Liucci. If he says there's nothing, there's nothing. 247 and TA are just writing articles to sell subscriptions.

In a way, I'm happier to hear things like this than I would be if we knew everything about the process.
As long as they're certain they're making the right hire, I'm ok being in the dark as a fan.

It just cracks me up on TA how people take Liucci's extremely vague, non-committal comments and tie themselves in knots trying to create a castle in the sky with them.
Billy says "we may find out this weekend, or the next, or after Christmas. It may be Foster, or I think we'll hear a new name we haven't heard before." And TexAgs' Looch worshippers say "Ohhh! Great info from Billy. He can't come out and say it, so you have to read between the lines... there's a secret message to us in there!"
It's like they are using a decoder ring to get the secret message from Little Orphan Annie. Billy isn't sending you coded messages from a tesseract located in a black hole by knocking books off the shelf in your bedroom from the 5th dimension, guys. The secret is, he doesn't know anything!!!

That is the game with all these sites. When they don't have solid info they tease things to force implication, so that when it falls apart they can say "I never said that." It is a two way street.
