Funny story. (I'm class of 2000)

One day during dead week 1st semester freshman year, we were looking to play a prank on one of our fish buddies, so we filled up a trash can full of water and went to the 4th floor, ready to quad him while he was in B's. We got caught by the unit military advisor (Major XXXX, class of 1982). Instead of scolding us, he calmly "corrected" us by saying that "it's not quadding if you do it from 3rd stoop".

We took his advice, and our buddy (who eventually became the combined band XO and is now a successful municipal lawyer in Houston) was not happy to say the least.

Fast forward to 2011, when I was deployed to Iraq for Operation New Dawn. Now a Major, I ran into COLONEL XXXX (same individual) from the 36th Infantry Division (TX ARNG). He wanted to know if I recognized him and I said, "Of course sir. You told us it wasn't quadding if it was from 3rd stoop". Another COL in the vicinity who was also an Aggie completely lost it when I said that and busted out laughing.

True genius on your part, AFL. That's when I knew I was toast and might as well come clean.

Well, that and the fact that there really is no good way to defend jerking off into jars no matter how long ago it was. Better to just get out in front of it

The one I don't get is the "aggy is ghey" schtick. On one thread, we're all racist homophobes who go queer rolling in our spare time and then on the next we're buttfricking in the bathroom stalls on Northgate. tRant needs to make up their GD minds.

At least we get our own troll saying: "Nice Jar".

Honestly I think we are about at the right size for a board/group. SECr is honestly a pretty small community of regulars with the drive by trolls scattered here and there. There are maybe 12-15 regular aggie posters and we're around the middle of the pack there. Anything larger and we're too big and start to suffer from a dilution of the personal feel the rant has. Good thing the professional trolls make a lot of the casual newbies to the board /ragequit so often.

Yeah I like that one. Or when something good happens and we say "I need to fill a jar."

It really is an acquired taste. TexAgs style posts tend not to fly over here, which I think is why we haven't been deluged with TA dual posters.

Not that I don't want the board to grow, but it's just a different mindset and many can't switch between the two. Hell, I have to remind myself to post differently over there than over here sometimes

Look I am a fan of our school but I don't look at things through maroon colored homer glasses. That's the problem over there if you don't wear the glasses you get hammered.

Well and the fact of you can't code a message properly on Texags or it will be ingored. But I think all fan sites are that way to various lessor degrees.

One thing I respect a lot about LSU fans is that tRANT is proof they prefer to not be a very insulated culture. Sure they have a limit to that but the "everbody is welcome to be tiger bait philosophy" is refreshing.

1. I love the rant. There are a shite ton of trash talkers but there are people who will post quality takes too.

2. Wait.....we aren't REALLY supposed to be filling jars? Awwww hell.

I guess I don't really have a "style;" I just say what I think.

I talk a lot of shite about LSU on here because they are so easy to rile up and there are so many of the, but their fanbase is awesome in real life.

This.

They remind us so much of........us, that it's kinda funny.

Both fanbases can be annoying as hell when they want to be (which is often ), but also know how to have a damn good time.

LSU is good people. If you can't jaw a little and drink a lot you shouldn't be watching CFB in the SEC.

By "TexAgs style points" do you mean derailing every thread with inside jokes and sophomoric humor or caustic attacks? TexAgs's style is don't talk fooball, do talk inane babble and meaningless circular BS.

The rant has it's own style. All flame, all the time. Most of the time, it isn't my style.

This board is a welcome refuge on the internet. No BS. Just real talk. Nobody talks down to anyone, people here try to be helpful. That doesn't mean humorlessness, it just means that nobody here thinks it's awesome when someone trolls up, derails, or turns a meaningful thread into a 5 year old's idea of a joke.

Yet somehow in between all the self promotion and flaming, I feel like I learn something about each team.

That's EXACTLY what I mean. You nailed it.

If they laid down the law a few times and banned people for that it would catch on pretty quickly and they'd have genuine discussion that would generate more traffic. That's what mods DO. But I honestly think they WANT it to be like that on the free board in order to DRIVE people who want serious talk to premium. Sorry for the tinfoil hat, but I believe there is no way they just think it's okay or funny that the football board is nothing but juvenile inside jokes. I think they realize it's now degraded to junk and keep it that way on purpose. I've been on there for over a decade. - it wasn't always that way.

True; that's the reason I bother with it. There's occasionally some substance on there.
