Well, that and the fact that there really is no good way to defend jerking off into jars no matter how long ago it was

If that was really a true story. Paul Burka, the Texas Monthly version of Randolph Duke, got a bitter female cadet who punched to say that. Who knows if it's true or if she made it up? (Although PMC does do some pretty disgusting things)

Kind of like the BQ fish who complained to her Reserve AF Ltc father about the BQ song and LTG Van Alstyne overreacted.

It's just hilarious to me that I as a second generation Aggie and 2nd gen CT with a dad who was not shy about describing all sorts of old army shenanigans had never heard anything close to the Jizz jar thing until I joined TexAgs my junior year.

The average cadet doesn't know what that or "squeeze Ags" is unless they're on message boards, from what I've seen.

I was always told the jizz jar thing was a LONG time ago, like 40s-50s.

My dad (class of '81) tells of the time his friend was dragged out of bed as a freshman at 5 AM on a cold November morning, brought outside in just his underwear and with one guy holding each limb they poured ice water on his junk from the roof.

Some of our poor recpetion in certain circles, broadly speaking, has to do with Ags who don't understand that many of our traditions are over the top and silly on purpose and that they're done in a spirit of fun and also partially in jest.

Clearly stuff like Muster and Silver Taps are fully serious, but all the other stuff, especially Corps games and inside traditions, are tongue-in-cheek. I think older generations understood that and had fun with it but you see some young Ags today who are humorless and mega gung-ho about every last tradition being sacrosanct and religiously inspired pure 100% serious and they ruin it by being overly defensive and combative about A&M.

Uncover

Mother fricking cock-sucking goddamn bullshite a-hole uncover.

If I had a nickel for every 18 year old freshman who yelled uncover at me during football games I'd own a summer home in Italy.

"Quadding"

My dad (FTACO '83) has the same story but he wasn't the victim, apparently

I'm T-shirt and have yelled uncover.

Just once. At a douche bag.

My fellow ring baring Ags said it was a proper use.

Completely agree. It's college. Everything doesn't have to be so damn serious all the time.

There are three scenarios in which it is acceptable:

1: They refuse to take their hat off during the national anthem

2: They are wearing a cowboy hat blocking your view

3: They are wearing a hat of the opposing team

I've done it a couple of times, but I usually don't care.

I uncover but I don't see the point in getting militant about it. Just yell loud and be done with it already

the same can be said about outsiders as well. for instance the rant. you see people say all the time "i would be embarrassed if we had yell leaders", "those fake army guys scare me", "god this place is so weird, they do coordinated yells the whole game" and generally act like people from a&m are not normal fricking people. hell one person one time was going off on how CS doesn't have any trees...and there were few posters on the rant who actually legitimately believed him

Exactly. Its better to own it all because the SEC fans appreciate that even if they would never admit it.

Hell that is why the SEC is such a fit. For Big 12 fans the Jizz Jar thing was like a fatality for "aggy" in their minds, the end to every conversation. They obsessed about our weirdness, heck many still do.

With SEC fans the day the Jizz Jar thing really hit we were all like "well yeah but we don't put our balls on people or chug through our arse." The SEC is full of weird shite, we fit in as long as we don't play the tour guide and go on and on about every tradition like it's so damn cool. We beat them on quantity weirdness, but NOT quality weirdness.

Also I love that we own it here because it's a little middle finger to the least fun in our fanbase. For example I long owned the gay thing because if old army REALLY knew how gay the yell leaders look they would have been replaced with the dance team year 1 of the move.

But Aggies tradionally lack self-awareness and it's great to celebrate that instead of acting holier than thou.

Y'all really are a great group!

And for our lurking sips: thanks for the NSD melt that was great. Have fun watching us pull in one big 2015 recruit after another before y'all play a meaningful snap. Mack sure got the state set on early recruiting which totally bones Charlie "Acquired Taste" Strong.

I promise to try very very hard not to embarrass us. I think the best way for me to do that is to post very very rarely on the rant. That place scrambles my brains. It's a weird environment for a borderline old ('79).
