No hard feelings from the other night.

What happened that "other night"?

See the concept uniform thread for reference

It was fun. I learned that I was a "poser" while at A&M.

Bwahaha, that thread.
Allow non regs into the band! And then we will forgive you...

You did kinda bleed all over that thread.
A lot of corps guys get disproportionately bent out of shape over rather benign comments about reducing the school's advertising emphasis on them.

With all due respect concerning CTs....ah...never mind.

This is the closest equivalent I've seen to the "Texas to the SEC" posts on the rant. I promise you, non-regs DO NOT WANT in the band. They may think they do. That would last about 2 hrs. But that's pushing it.

Again. Thanks for the reminder. SafetySam the poser will still kick your arse at HORSE.

Maybe. I don't see that. I and several other CTs have already said we're not in favor of the Corps block seating. But I think you're fooling yourself if you think eliminating that seating will result in cameras focusing on generic college students more than, say... the band. Repeating myself from earlier, but every game I see PLENTY of civilian students on TV. You and I and the rest of the nation don't take much notice because... why would we? They're just college students and not especially interesting.

I disagree
Every time we score a TD, what do the cameras cut to? A CT kissing their date or the corps block waving their towels and cheering.
Most media advertisements give the imoression that the corps is a huge % of the student body

Never ever ever!
Thank you for the thread, I was scared I offended you! Which couldn't be farther from the truth, I can't tell you how much I appreciate you and Finest sharing your thoughts with me. I look up to the both of yall so much you wouldn't believe it, your belief structure is a great role model for mine or just my concept of Aggieness.
It is threads like that one, or the foxhole thread that was the 2015 NSD cycle, that makes this by far my favorite Aggie forum on the internet. I would share a beer with each and every person here, which in my personal experience is like the anti-Texags.
I feel bad because I ruined it turning into an unwanted novel. Next time I promise to have better word sphincter control (I really promise finest!).

That is not the problem. The problem is that the corps doesn't look integrated with the student body. It gives the wrong impression that A&M has two tracks, or that there is a more "genuine" Aggie experience. Or heck more than that it causes brand confusion. All the corps are college kids first, and I think they would be best represented the traditional way (per your words) of not having a corps block.
But I am on the side of leave the band alone. I think the band is a universally respected side of A&M, and honestly represents the corps better than anything else. If they ever change anything about the band, or drop my favorite song, I am going to throw a shite fit.

I'm sayin' that if not for the Corps block, cameras would focus on the band. Because the uniforms are unique, not something you see outside the military acadamies.

I agree with all of that. Back in SafetySam's and my days, we sat with you hippies and it all seemed to work out just fine. Despite our fearless leader TBird's obviously drunk opinion, I think that block seating is a bad idea. We have different reasons why but it all comes out the same: that practice needs to go.

I'm against the Corps block too.

Dunno what you mean. So far the only one I've seen here in favor of the Corps block is drunk TBird.
