Arkansas came in with the 14th rank rush defense in the country and we had a RS FR QB in his third start so we were never going to win based on style points. This was always going to be an ugly knock your opponent in the mouth and create mistakes type of game. We were able to do that and Arkansas couldn’t. That’s why we won.

Agreed, very conservative play calling. Looks just like a Jimbo offense out there right now.

Ehh... it's been pretty conservative but I'd be wiling to bet we've already run more pre-snap motion this year than Jimbo did his last 2 or 3 seasons combined.

5-7 team at best

5 wins should be a given at this point. Going to need to pull an upset to get to 6. LSU game should be a good one.

And he’s talking about us only getting 5 wins this season and have to pull an upset to get 6.

I’m just more talking about the script of:

1st down: short pass or run
2nd down: almost always an inside run
3rd down: attempt farther pass because we didn’t get much on first or second.

I bet you we ran the ball on 80%+ of second downs, most of the time for 3 yards or less. When something isn’t working, switch it up. That’s more of what I meant by “jimbo offense” we just kept trying to force something instead of changing it up.

If Reed ever becomes even half assed accurate he has a chance to be a pretty good college qb. He has a hell of arm, just not sure where it's going when he turns it loose. Dline had their best game of the year by a mile, helped that Ark oline didn't look very good and their qb looked loss several times in the game. Team is still a work in progress, I can see running the table until Thanksgiving and I could also see 2 or 3 losses.

It feels like we're fielding a JV squad after watching Alabama-Georgia.

I longed for Weigman at some point during the game. And then Marcel et.al. pulled it out. But Marcel has to get better in the passing game.
