Only votes that should count are actual posts
There is no way that 13 Ark members want to play tu again

I'm not at all convinced that they really want to play us.
They aren't quite the hive mind that we are, I really think its a mix of opinions.
Living in Austin I think the young Longhorns (aka current students) do want the game because they are tired of shite home schedules and us dominating "rivalry weekend" in the state with our LSU game. This kids also want the LHN to go away and for Texas to join the SEC if they would. They see all our exciting home SEC games and get very jealous.
I think the older Longhorns don't want the game because they are still pissed at us for calling them out on their LHN bullshite. They are so stuck in the "it is a privilege for the Aggies to play us" mindset that they refuse to admit the huge boost we would give to their home schedule every other year.
I think the administration and Herman wants the game because they know playing us and beating us is the quickest way to get back to the Mack Brown era where they own the state. We opened the door to the SEC powers to poach the state and that door will never be closed, but if Texas can show that they can beat the only SEC team in the state that helps them on the recruiting trail. They assume a bunch of wins because historically Texas has won more.
I think your average T Shirt fan doesn't understand the nuance of all of this Game of Thrones shite, and assumes that we are being cowards just like they assumed that Iraq was behind 9/11.

Still quite a few "no" votes still. Got to think the LSU clowns are the bulk of the "yes" votes.

Dropping bombs over here
I voted yes, but as I said on the first page, I think it's a move we should look to in 5-10 years. Maybe after the Notre Dame home and home we try and schedule a home and home with Texas and see how that goes. By that time we might even see the emergence of the 16 team conference and move to Power 4 conferences. Maybe they will alter bowl eligibility rules to end the FCS cupcake games. Who knows what the college football landscape will look like.

I think a one time home and home in September, after the Notre Dame series is ok. That way you treat it just like any other game. Play the series, then move on.

If it opens the relationship up, maybe every 6 years we do a home and home. Idk. I just want to play them again and beat their burnt orange asses.

While we are at it- frick that too.
Right now the conference alignment is the best case scenario for us- OU and Texas in a shite conference, us the only Texas team in the SEC. Every single "superconference" situation I have seen people speculate about always brings OU and or Texas to the SEC and that would completely frick up the good thing we have going.

OU and Texas will never join the SEC. Ever. Can't happen.
Arkansas, A&M, South Carolina, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Mizzou, and Kentucky will all vote against Texas because there is an unspoken agreement between the 8 teams to deny teams from their states.
OU and OSU are a package deal. So both or neither.
4 conferences of 16 teams placed into a separate CFP division is the best thing that could happen to College Football. It would force ND to join a conference. It would end the bullshite of a playoff committee. We could end divisions and move to an NFL style 4 team group system. College Football would be better off for it.

For scheduling, a 4-pod, 16-team conference is actually better, especially with a 9-game schedule, than a 2-division, 14-team conference with an 8-game schedule.

That's just internet speculation. No one can confirm this as truth or gossip.

I don’t disagree with that, I just think there isn’t a way to get to four 16 team conferences that doesn’t frick our program over. I will talk playing SEC East teams once every seven years or whatever if the trade off is OU and Texas completely have to rely on OOC games to have an interesting opponent on their schedule.

That's a whole bunch of words to say you're afraid A&M will lose and give Texas a recruiting advantage. Screw that. Kick their arse and keep kicking their arse.
But you're at least partially correct about the old fart angle. What do I remember about Thanksgiving? Watching the Cowboys in the afternoon and the Aggies at night. It was a great rivalry. NONE of my family were Aggies, but all the TCU and Baylor grads watched that game with high interest. The state of Texas has nothing like that anymore.

I've mentioned this same point before and have no idea whether it is actually true, but with cable-cutting becoming rampant I don't see how this will matter once the current contracts expire. At that point I think every conference will want the best-available program, regardless of "footprint".
But I also don't think tu would ever agree to join the SEC even if the SEC begged them to. It is beneath them. And the bigger point they'd never say out loud is they couldn't run things.

My vote is worth 12. Sorry, I thought you knew.
