DWI along with weed and a weapons charge. Not good.

Seems it can be hard to manage these young men through 3 to 4 years of college. Someone always does something stupid nearly every year. The guy was supposed to go to media days as I recall.

That was my first thought as well, thought he was going to SEC media days, what happened to that?
As to the charges, not a great look, but players on all teams have stuck around and done worse. I expect a multi game suspension of some sort. Dissapointing for a key contributor that has a lot ahead of him.
As I commented on a thread on the Rant, every team will have some discipline issues, if we start seeing arrests every two weeks we got a problem. One event like this.... not something to freak out about.

Need to plead out the gun charge. Hopefully it is a registered weapon. The guy has Ricky Williams type issues with the weed I think.

TX does not have gun registration requirements
The issue was have a gun while "involved in a criminal activity", which the 0.8g joint and alleged drunk driving brings into play

He will make a plea deal and some of the charges will be reduced and perhaps dropped. He is a first time offender. But for a fourth year guy it looks bad.
There is always the other side of this and that is the perception an A&M athlete gets no special treatment.
