I have read all the books also, figured they would make that a cliffhanger.

Well according to that article it's not even a sure thing they use that storyline so I'm not sure if you've actually spoiled yourself or not.

I have read all the books and the Dunk and Egg tales. BTW, the D&E stories are great and really help to give some additional context to the show and moreso the books because you learn about characters when they were young or about their parents/grandparents. Also leads to all kinds of new speculation.

I was less frustrated by the lack of the reveal you are mentioning than no "wherever whores go". GRRM has an EW article and you can tell he is mad about that as well because it changes the storyline. At this point it really can't be brought back in either so it's not really a spoiler.

Dont' know why they had to go skeletor on the wights and have them come out of the snow "Thriller" style. It had to be confusing to show watchers who likely thought they were something new, at least that is what some of the watchers I work with thought. With the intro of the COTF and Three Eyed Raven it made that plot seem disconnected from the rest due to so much magic. A little surprised they killed Jojen as a spoiler to book readers.

Loved the Stannis/Wall scenes and the change Arya/Hound/Brienne stuff. Also did a good job with Dany and her dragons.

I think the lack of the event you mentioned may just be because of logistical/budget more than anything. I just wonder if it will be left out entirely.

Or because there was a scheduling conflict with the actress (as she's the main baddie in 24)

I just saw tArk tweet about how johnnys contract is 94% guaranteed. is that normal for a rookie contract? that seems really high

That's around the norm these days because rookies don't get the huge contracts like they use to anymore. If a rookie gets hurt or doesn't pan out, it's not as big of a hit to a team financially now as it once was (see Sam Bradford)

I'm at work and can't watch that video but I watched the 2010 cup on NG at Corner and O Bannon's and it got pretty rowdy considering it was summer. First floor of corner during the Ghana game in 2010 was packed I remember

Meh. I know if I start watching I'll get hooked on USA USA USA! But unless I have a rooting interest I've never gotten it, even after travelling to and watching countless high school/college matches for daughter Bruiser. Maybe slightly more entertaining than baseball - maybe. And then there's the obligatory:

(Not that cycling is a good spectator sport. It is absolutely the worst. But they aren't pussies.)

I agree. I'm hoping for the best but the show really thrived in the small town/backwoods setting. Another gulf coast season would be so much better than California.

Agreed.

it's easy to think Neymar's not injured (he's the guy in the yellow shirt) when you don't play. But it hurts like a mother fricker to get kicked in the shin. It's just a bruise though so after a second you realize you can play. Sort of like when you stub your toe or something. The immediate reaction is to hobble around cursing but after a minute the pain subsides.

That's not to say they don't embellish, but I think a lot of what you see as embellishment really fricking hurts. After a game I normally take off my shinguards and my legs are black and blue.

So me and my highschool buddies used play dynasty mode on NCAA all the fricking time... and even carried in to college online, and even in to the working world... As a result of this, we use GroupMe to basically bullshite with each other all day long. Seriously if we could get the years of transcripts from that app it would be legendary.

Anyway, one of our bros is really in to playing FIFA, and has been for a long time. Another guy was his roommate freshman year at tu, and basically watched him turn in to a huge Chelsea fan. For years we just put up with his nonsense and ignored it... because well... it's soccer. Anyway... the rest of us over the last year just to frick with him decided to become one of Chelsea's rivals fans. We chose Arsenal.

Honestly, I've loved following them. Only one season in to doing this, and honestly I like it way more than I thought I would. And honestly I haven't even watched that much of it. I watched the FA Cup Final and semis, and like 5 EPL matches. It's fun just reading stuff online, seeing shite on twitter, and talking about it with my friends. Luckily we won the FA Cup this year, so it gave me a small taste of success, but I think I'm 100% on board. The matches are quick, there are tons of them so you don't really have to follow all the time, and the passion is unreal. I bought an Arsenal jersey, and I have had people come up to me all over the country wanting to talk about the Gunners. Miami, D.C., New York, LA... I've had conversations coast to coast. No joke. I would recommend following an EPL team for the fun of it. I'm biased but I would also recommend Arsenal. Lucas Podoslki and Dirk are really good friends. The manager is french, which is annoying, but his also a stoic philosopher. Basically the Phil Jackson of soccer. It's also made the world cup much cooler.

Yeah one of the people in the groupme is an investment banker in NYC. 4 of us definitely bought tickets to the arsenal friendly at the Red Bulls stadium this summer. Like $250/ticket. And the Chelsea fan is in law school in DC and is going to meet us there but has no idea we are going to be decked out in Arsenal shite, and his only option will be to sit in the parking lot waiting for us to get done.

We take fricking with our friends a little too seriously.
